My Top Posters of the Last Decade: Part Four

It’s the final part and that means it’s time to share with you my five favorite posters of the last decade. Enjoy!

5. The Multiverse Is Shattering

This poster is magnificent; from the way, Doctor Strange looks on the poster to the use of glass shards to include all of the other characters (and a few clues) in the movies. It’s a brilliant work of art and a true testament to Sam Raimi’s brilliance when it comes to directing a superhero movie.

I love it so much I have the textless version as a wallpaper for my phone.

4. The Poster That Still Boggles Me

I’ve been looking at this poster for three years now and I still quite can’t understand what it’s trying to say…and that’s what is so brilliant about this masterpiece of a poster. The movie, like the poster, is a work of intricate storytelling, culminating into one heck of a ride. Bong-Joon Ho’s directorial style and genius are apparent in all of his work and Parasite was simply the catalyst of his brilliance.

3. Doctor Strange Posters Just Never Fail

Simplistic, stunning, entrancing, magical, fantastic, fascinating, all of the positive adjectives could be used to describe this lovely work of art. And what makes it an even more powerful poster is that the very title of the movie isn’t even on the poster and yet you know what it is. That’s called making a statement.

2. Taking a Leap of Faith

This poster is another entrancing work of art. Spider-Man: Into the Spider-Verse is often regarded as the greatest Spider-Man movie ever made because it is a one-of-a-kind film. It’s more than just an animated film, it’s a visceral experience, and this poster fills me with happiness every time I see it.

1. The Beginning of A Great Adventure

I can’t quite understand the tales I hear from people who recount their stories of seeing Star Wars in theaters for the first time in 1977. But this poster gives me an idea of what it might’ve been like.

I remember seeing this poster for the first time in the movie theaters the day before seeing The Force Awakens and even to this day, I can still remember how I felt when I saw it. The awe, the wonder, the sheer unexplainable excitement of seeing two new characters in a brand-new Star Wars story. As someone who thought I’d never get the chance to experience a new Star Wars movie in theaters, this poster was (and still is) everything to me.

So there you have it, 20 posters, 20 opinions on those posters, and a whole lot of love for entertainment. What new amazing posters will we see in 2022? We’ll have to wait and see.
