Pixar does it again. They have another lovable, memorable installment on their hands with Domee Shi’s direction and knack for storytelling. This movie will hit women hard who’s been through all of the growing pains of womanhood; from burgeoning feelings for boys to want to begin to feel like a woman. It’s a lot, it can be complicated, and this movie illustrates this perfectly.

Pixar always understands the assignment and with Turning Red there’s so much to love; the animation, the humor, and the characters. The fact that this movie was attacked by bigoted critics who were somehow offended by this uber-cute film is beyond me. This is a lovely movie to watch with the whole family and it has the potential to be the Best Animated Film winner.

I’m giving it 93 out of 100 and 4 out of 5 stars.
