I always knew the X-Men movies had their problems, with exceptions (Hugh Jackman’s Wolverine, Halle Berry’s storm, every iteration of Professor X and Magneto), but it wasn’t until I started watching the X-Men animated series that I realized how bad the movies really are.

The show is very intense. The romance is very prevalent, dramatic, and important in a way that feels far more warranted than in the movies. The action is fun to watch. The characters are fleshed out so much more, like Rogue for example. She is awesome in the cartoon. And it’s just so much more fun to watch.

I’m really hoping that the X-Men we receive in the MCU will be treated as well as they were in the cartoon because if so, we’ve got a lot more drama to enjoy.
