Jurassic World: Dominion is coming out in less than two months and that means we’re less than two months away from seeing the classic trio together again for this grand finale. Following the footsteps of other franchises, they’re bringing the iconic characters back played by Sam Neill, Laura Dern, and Jeff Goldblum. And while that’s exciting (and probably the best thing for this next movie considering how bad Fallen Kingdom was) it worries me for one MAJOR reason.
I’ve been saying for a little while now that a prominent character needs to die in these films. Fallen Kingdom pushed me over the edge by keeping every main character constantly out of trouble when it was obvious someone should’ve died multiple times.
Now we’re about to get this “epic” conclusion to the Jurassic saga and with finales come shocking and sometimes heartbreaking demises. But that’s why I’m starting to freak out because I know what happened in the Sequel Trilogy.
Over the course of three movies I had to watch three of my favorite Star Wars characters–Luke, Han, and Leia–die. Han’s death was the saddest but all left me a little saddened. Leia’s death was especially saddening because Carrie Fisher, by that time, had passed away in real life.
So, with Jurassic World: Dominion almost upon us, if the movie’s going to be any good it’s got to up the stakes and make us believe these characters are in serious trouble. But that does not mean bringing back the classic trio just so we can find some terrifying or heroic way to see them get killed by a dinosaur on the big screen. I don’t want that and I’m pretty sure no one else wants that either.
How do you feel about it? I’d love to hear your thoughts in the comments below.
I thank you for reading and I hope you have a spectacular day.
