Having just recently completed the Rocky/Creed franchise one thing is sure: this is hands down one of the greatest, most solid franchises ever made. Yes, there are some films that are better than others but overall, every movie moves the story forward in some way. I’m happy to report that Creed III is no exception.
From the film’s opening scene, Creed III lets you know you’re in for a ride. And once the story ramps up, the momentum never eases, building to an emotionally heavy climax that concludes in near-perfect fashion.

Michael B. Jordan’s directorial debut is a positive one. His unique take on the boxing scenes made for a thrilling watch, specifically in IMAX which was just outstanding to see. The Creed trilogy is as solid as it gets and to follow in Rocky’s footsteps and do so well is nothing short of heartwarming.
I can confidently say this is a must-watch in theaters, especially in the IMAX format. The power of some of the film’s scenes in this format is honestly unlike anything I’ve seen in a sports movie.

And Jonathan Majors. Wow, he has truly arrived. You know a great actor because there’s no one like them. There are those certain Black actors that stand out because of their greatness: Denzel Washington, Forest Whitaker, Chadwick Boseman, Delroy Lindo, and Giancarlo Esposito, just to name a few. Their presence is not only undeniable but unforgettable. Majors is like that.
You watch him act and it’s always special. He’s magnetic and compelling, he takes advantage of every morsel of screentime, and he fills a character with so much nuance. As Damian Anderson, I never saw Kang. I saw a boxer hungry for the title and all the accomplishments that come with it.
As you can probably tell, I really liked the film. No, it isn’t unlike anything you’ve seen before in this franchise but it’s a good story with even better execution. And that’s what this saga of boxing dramas is all about: good stories.
Because of that, I’m giving Creed III 92 out of 100 and 4 out of 5 stars.
I thank you for reading and I hope you have a fantastic day.
