Where Does ‘Peter Pan and Wendy’ Rank Amongst the Disney Live-Action Remakes?

Peter Pan and Wendy has recently made its debut on Disney+, and yes, I loved it! I’m not sure how it compares to Disney’s 1953 Peter Pan because I’ve never seen it, but I can say that it was as magical as I’d hoped. And yes, Jude Law’s Captain Hook was perfect. So, I figured I’d share where I’d rank it among Disney’s live-action films. Enjoy!

11. Pinocchio

This movie excited me in the first half, but its final thirty minutes were so unbelievably dreadful that I knew instantly this was the worst of the Disney remakes.

‘The Mandalorian’ Should’ve Ended With Season 2

I just finished watching the finale of The Mandalorian, and to say that I’m peeved is an understatement. The Mandalorian was a show that felt like it took itself seriously for the first two seasons. There was character development and fascinating storytelling, and the finales left you reeling in some capacity.

I knew this season’s finale was going to have troubles when I learned that it was going to be a relatively short runtime for a season finale, clocking in at forty-one minutes. With credits and the recap, that runtime boils closer to something you’d see from a Clone Wars episode. And sure enough, the finale feels as if it’s moving a million miles an hour to conclude a story that ultimately was as lackluster as they come.

MAJOR SPOILERS AHEAD!

Could Ahsoka Be in ‘Andor’ Season 2?

There are a lot of things to be excited about when it comes to Andor‘s imminent second season. After watching a somewhat-blurry leaked trailer on Twitter from Star Wars Celebration I can’t stop thinking about what’s in store.

The footage that I saw maintained that cold, dark tone that made Andor so good while adding another element that I wasn’t expecting: a more passionate, romantic side that’s sure to heat up the Twitter trending tabs. Suffice it so say, I’m counting down the days to see the new season and in my anticipation I decided to jump ahead and watch Rogue One. That’s when I noticed something.

With only one season under my belt Cassian’s story in Rogue One already seems so much more heightened but there was one line that stopped in me in my tracks. It was this one: “Is he a Jedi?”

Star Wars Celebration Begins With a Major Announcement!

When Star Wars Celebration arrives, it’s always exciting as a fan of this franchise, but if I’m being honest, I wasn’t very enthused about the special day. With The Mandalorian leaving me with a sour feeling in my stomach and Star Wars movies being canceled left and right, my enjoyment has definitely waned. And then, I woke up this morning.

There were a lot of exciting announcements, reveals, and details about the upcoming series, but the news that thrilled me the most was the return of none other than Daisy Ridley to this franchise. Do I have problems with the sequel trilogy? 100%. Do I think there were some poor choices made with Rey’s character (retconning her chance at being special without being connected to a legacy character?) Absolutely. Did my heart skip a beat when I learned she would be in a new movie set fifteen years after The Rise of Skywalker? Yes, it did!

‘Dungeons and Dragons: Honor Among Thieves’ Is the Best Film of the Year, So Far

I think I speak for many people when I say the thought of adapting Dungeons and Dragons into a movie was met with little enthusiasm. Game adaptations are known to be anything but exciting, rewarding, or just downright good. The Last of Us was a feat of brilliance, showing that maybe the game adaptation curse had finally been lifted. Dungeons and Dragons: Honor Among Thieves echoes that sentiment.

Yesterday, I went with my sister to watch Honor Among Thieves in IMAX. We were excited after hearing the great reviews. As two young women who don’t really know anything about this game and its universe, we were just ready to see another fun movie set in a fantasy world. What I wasn’t expecting was to see a film that enthralled me as much as this movie.

I watch many movies in theaters, but I honestly haven’t been that blown away by a film and all of its fun moments in a while. There were so many times when I was either staring at the screen with awe or a huge smile on my face.

The characters, portrayed by a pitch-perfect cast, were outstanding. I found myself wanting to follow their adventures for a whole Star Wars-level saga; that’s how much I loved them.

The action scenes were fantastical and magical, which is something I haven’t really seen utilized in fantasy films, maybe ever. As someone who does play fantasy games like Diablo, I loved how brilliantly the directors made it feel like these characters were actually casting spells and playing like a real team you’d put together. It was fantastic!

But most importantly, it wasn’t just the action and the characters that made this film enjoyable, but it was also the story that was told so beautifully. From the first few seconds of the film, you are locked into a fantastical world filled with peril and strange creatures. And I’m not ashamed to admit that this movie made me cry real tears. I mean, I was on the verge of ugly crying. I definitely didn’t see that coming. Just goes to show how engaging the story was.

When the movie concluded I was beyond elated. Dungeons and Dragons: Honor Among Thieves is a real hit. I implore you to see it in theaters because it is genuinely made for the big screen with all of its brilliant spectacles. And yes, I think I’m a Dungeons and Dragons fan now.

I’m giving this movie 100 out of 100 and 5 out of 5 stars.

I thank you for reading, and I hope you have a tremendous day.

‘John Wick: Chapter 4’ Is a Masterclass in Action, But Is There Too Much of It?

The first John Wick came out nine years ago, and I’m pretty sure, at that time, no one expected that movie to go on to become its own franchise, but here we are. And let me tell you, John Wick: Chapter 4 is easily one of the greatest action movies of all time.

Chad Stahelski delivers a fourth film that, with a larger budget, is bigger and better than ever. The set pieces are dazzling, the action scenes are fantastically choreographed, and the music is enthralling, but most importantly, Keanu Reeves is just one of those guys. Seeing him perform these stunts is so exciting, as the story plays out so beautifully. But for the first time in this franchise, I think John Wick was outshined by his costars, a medley of fantastic actors who made this franchise just a little radder.
