My Review of Phasma

Captain Phasma is one of the coolest characters in the Star Wars universe. First of all, she’s a female stormtrooper which already makes her unique. And then, her chrome armor and blaster are absolutely beautiful. I was so excited to see her in The Force Awakens but alas, I was ultimately disappointed by her utter lack of involvement in the film. She was used as just a poster child for the movie and barely had a role despite her obvious importance. And then, it seemed like she wasn’t even going to make it to the next film because Finn, Han, and Chewie dumped her in a trash compactor. Thankfully, she escaped, a scenario that will be explained in the near future through the Captain Phasma comic.

Lucasfilm, however, realized their huge mistake by not incorporating her into the film more and now it looks like they’re going full steam ahead into revealing everything about Phasma leading up to The Last Jedi.

So, because I love Captain Phasma so much, there was no way I wasn’t going to get a book all about her. And so, this is my review.

It’s Force Friday!

It’s the first day of September and it’s finally Force Friday!!! Now, I thought Force Friday was just a marketing campaign focused solely for children by bringing out toys based on the upcoming Star Wars film. I have never been so happy to be wrong. Force Friday isn’t just about bringing out toys and other children’s products. There are also new books to read that are vital parts of the new canon and I am so excited! This is truly the beginning of the countdown to The Last Jedi and I’m kind of shocked at how quickly everything is happening. Here are the books I can’t wait to get.

A Revelation About Rey

So I have just recently finished reading Star Wars: Bloodline which was so good by the way. This book is set, I think, six years before The Force Awakens and is focused solely on Leia and what she was doing at that time. Not only was it fun reading about that time period and all of its political struggles and so forth in the galaxy but it also gave me one of the largest hints about Rey that I’ve gotten in the last twenty months and I’m so excited to share it with you.

The Fun of Binge-Reading Star Wars Books

Reading is one of my favorite activities. I love fiction and non-fiction, fantasy and American History, I love it all. The books I have never happened to read in my nineteen years of living, however, have been Star Wars books. As much as I love Star Wars I never was very interested in the books. I liked the movies and tv shows, I liked being able to see the characters and planets and watch things unfold visually. That’s why after I went to one of my local libraries and read for the first time, a Star Wars book, I was blown away.

The book, in particular, was Catalyst, the prequel to Rogue One.

My Review of Heir of Fire

Spoiler Alert!

For the past two days I have been writing reviews on the Throne of Glass novels. Yesterday I wrote about how much I enjoyed the perfect second entry in the series named Crown of Midnight. Now I will write about the third book in this epic series. There will be a few spoilers from Crown of Midnight so if you don’t want to know the gist of what happens please do not read any further.

Why the Heir of Fire Is So Great

Sarah J. Maas does it again. She has made another book that makes the series even better and I will explain why. In this third book Celaena has left Rifthold due to terrible events that have taken place. She sails to the country, Wendlyn across the sea. I will not tell you exactly why she’s going to Wendlyn but it’s very exciting. When she reaches the country she faces ancient creatures, befriends a stern warrior named Rowan, and confronts old demons she’s been running from for most of her life. Chaol and Prince Dorian are also going through things of their own back in Rifthold. Their story is just as important as Celaena’s compared to the other two books in the series. This entry into the series feels much longer than the other two even though it’s just about a hundred pages longer than Crown of Midnight. I will say there aren’t as many exciting twists and turns in Heir of Fire as in Crown of Midnight but the story is so good it doesn’t matter. What happens at the end of this book is so terrible and devastating it literally made me cry.

I give Throne of Fire a six out of five stars. Yes I gave it a six. That’s the level that this book is on. It’s better than average, it’s better than good, it’s stupendous. Before you read this book you have to read the first two books in the Throne of Glass novels to really understand what’s going on. If you do read this incredible novels you will not be disappointed. I haven’t read the fourth installment in these epic series but when I do will have another review for you to enjoy.
