A Six-Year Poster Evolution: Wasp

Hope van Dyne didn’t debut as a superhero in Ant-Man. She was basically no more than a secretary who just so happened to know martial arts…very well. It wasn’t until the end of the film that we got to see her in action but it wasn’t solidified that she would have a bigger role in the franchise as a superhero until the first post-credits scene for the film when it highlighted staring at her unfinished Wasp super suit in awe.

It made Hope more than just a pretty face. She was a hero who was just as heroic and capable of saving the world as Scott Lang. Unfortunately, she was one of the victims of Thanos’s infamous snap, meaning she can’t help try to defeat Thanos. At least, not yet.

While she hasn’t been in many films so far she has had a few posters and I’m very excited to share them with you. So, here they are. Enjoy!

I love this poster because of the humor behind it. You see, at this point in her life, she pretty much despised Scott Lang. She believed she was more capable than him for the task he was given and was constantly ready to wear her father’s suit but when he wouldn’t let her she gained an annoyance to Scott who she felt didn’t deserve to wear such a powerful piece of technology. Hence, her annoyed expression on this poster. Lol.

Ant-Man and the Wasp

Hope van Dyne returns in the Ant-Man sequel not as a returning secretary but as a superhero. (I love it!) Goodbye to the makeup, fingernail polish, and fancy hair. Now she’s ready to fight with a much cleaner look and hair that clearly resembles someone who’s been sweating. Um, awesome. And she looks so perfect for that suit by the way.

The unique gold color, the perfect blue, the red, everything about her suit screams cool.

Avengers: Endgame

Wasp in this poster looks almost regretful. Like she wishes could help kick whoever’s butt placed her in this awful position. Unfortunately, she can’t, because she’s dead. But if she returns, which I’m sure she will, she is going to relish giving Thanos the beatdown he deserves.

I can’t wait to share with you all the character posters for Captain Marvel tomorrow. That’s going to be fun.

I thank you for reading and I hope you have a remarkable day.

Here Are 5 Things I Can’t Wait to See in ‘Avengers 4’

I know it’s early to already start talking about Avengers 4. I mean, we haven’t even been given the title yet. But as the months draw closer to the film’s imminent release and my excitement grows I can’t help but share with you all the things I can’t wait to see in the film. So, on that note, let me share with you what I’m excited to see in Avengers 4.

1. Steve and Tony’s Reunion

The last time Steve Rogers and Tony Stark were in the same room it wasn’t pretty. After Tony discovered Steve had kept the awful truth of Tony’s parents’ death a secret from him he felt that he was betrayed and severed all friendly ties with his fellow Avenger, Captain America. With their friendship fractured Tony was totally prepared to never speak to or see Steve Rogers ever again but with the threat of Thanos upon Earth he was forced to confront the reality that he may need the patriotic hero’s help once more.

Unfortunately, we didn’t get to see that reunion in Avengers: Infinity War but that means when they finally do see each other again in Avengers 4 it’s going to be that much more heartfelt. Especially after the devastating events of the Infinity Snap Tony will probably be relieved to see that Steve didn’t disintegrate. I’m predicting many sniffles in the movie theaters during that heartwarming reunion.

What’s Your Favorite Marvel Love Story?

Love is a powerful thing. It mends hearts, brings people together, provides happiness to even the most sorrowful, and it is a beautiful thing to observe. Love stories are some of my favorite movie storylines and superhero films always provide a good love story. So, on that note, this is the topic of today’s Who’s Your Favorite? I hope you enjoy.

Vision and Scarlet Witch

While this romance was doomed from the beginning it still is a beautiful relationship nonetheless. Vision, an android looking for purpose and understanding in the world, found love as his relationship with Wanda Maximoff grew. And Wanda, who lost her brother in the Battle of Sokovia, was also trying to find her place among her fellow Avengers. Vision helped fill that void that she possessed and it wasn’t long before her friendship grew into something more.

It’s a shame that we weren’t able to see more with them as a couple but then again, who knows what the future holds.

T’Challa and Nakia

A simple yet perfect relationship. Nakia, as an independent woman, didn’t let her past relationship with T’Challa hold her down to remaining in Wakanda as a Wakandan housewife for the rest of her life. And that is what is so beautiful about this relationship. Their willingness to hear each other out and be there for one another when the need arises is very touching.

How Large Will Janet van Dyne’s Role Be in ‘Avengers 4’?

Ant-Man and the Wasp seems like a film with a story that’s very reserved in its own place and time and doesn’t have anything to do with the outside world but in actuality, Ant-Man and the Wasp may be much more important than it seems to be. In the film, we get a deeper look into the quantum realm where Janet van Dyne had resided for thirty years. In that time she was able to absorb the realm’s power and now she’s able to use those secrets in the world to aid others. But is that power part of the key to stopping Thanos in Avengers 4?

It’s common knowledge that those who were turned to dust in Infinity War will be resurrected which means Janet van Dyne will return. During those years in the quantum realm, she became powerful and that might mean that she’ll be one of the most important players in the film.

Of course, her screen time will probably be menial but I can’t wait to see what role she’ll specifically play in Avengers 4.

I thank you for reading and I hope you have a wonderful day.

Who Won The Summer?

The season of summer isn’t officially over yet but the exciting blockbuster season has unfortunately passed. And wasn’t this quite the summer? We had two Marvel movies, a Star Wars film, another terrifying Jurassic flick, the return of a Pixar classic, and a thrilling Mission: Impossible movie. This was quite the busy blockbuster season and so today I’m going to share with you my ranking of these films from worst to best. Enjoy!

6. Jurassic World: Fallen Kingdom

When I saw Jurassic Park for the first time five years ago I didn’t realize how incredible it was going to be. Since then I’ve become a Jurassic fan. I’ve seen every film, I’ve watched Jurassic Park a number of times, I’ve grown to enjoy Jurassic World at home, and I actually like Jurassic Park: The Lost World.

When it was announced that Jurassic World would be getting a sequel I couldn’t wait to see what it would be about. The first film in this new trilogy seemed pretty enjoyable so there was no way the sequel could be that bad. Wrong!

I walked away from that film utterly disappointed for a number of reasons.

  1. Every scene in the movie was something I had seen in a commercial or trailer so I knew what was going to happen.
  2. The story wasn’t enticing at all. Seeing Chris Pratt and Bryce-Dallas Howard trapped in a mansion overrun with dinosaurs is not as exciting as it sounds.
  3. There weren’t any stakes. I’m still waiting to see a Jurassic film that has some serious stakes connected to it. And even with the dinosaurs ( MAJOR SPOILER ALERT AHEAD!) getting released onto the North American continent at the end the movie it still didn’t feel dire in the slightest.

Who knows. Maybe the final film in the trilogy will be the best Jurassic movie ever made but it is clearly my least favorite blockbuster this year.

Ranking the Marvel Trailers From Worst to Best; Part 1

There have been twenty movies in the Marvel Cinematic Universe so far but at one time all we knew of these films were their exciting or somewhat disappointing trailers. Trailers tell you everything about a movie’s quality and that’s why I’m ranking them. But because there are, well, twenty trailers to rank I’m breaking it up into a two-day series. Enjoy!

20. The Incredible Hulk

Like The Incredible Hulk this is clearly the worst trailer of them all. Maybe I’m being a little biased because I know the movie isn’t that good but still, it’s kind of lame. It could’ve been a good movie but unfortunately it isn’t.

19. Captain America: The First Avenger

Captain America: The First Avenger is a boring origin story, pure and simple. The story is well told but the movie is poorly made. In the hands of the Russo Brothers it might have been a completely different film but in those days Marvel hadn’t entirely gotten their footing yet. It definitely is #19 in my opinion.
