‘A Christmas Story’ Has a Sequel…and It’s Actually Really Good!

At this time of year, the holidays bring so much joy; decorating the interior/exterior of your home, seeing the beautiful decorations around town and in the neighborhoods, listening to or singing Christmas songs, enjoying holiday-inspired beverages at Starbucks…you know, the memorable stuff. One of my personal favorite perks of this time of year is watching Christmas movies.

There are only a handful I make sure to watch every year: Home Alone, Die Hard, and A Christmas Story, with the latter being my favorite of them all. (I’ve now added Hawkeye as a fun yearly rewatch thanks to its Christmas theme.) And only recently, I’ve learned that A Christmas Story literally has a sequel on HBO Max right now and to my great surprise, it wasn’t bad.

It’s Christmas Eve!

I’m excited everyone. I’ve finished Christmas shopping with my family and now I’m sitting back, relaxing, and binge-watching all six episodes of the second season of His Dark Materials while preparing for Soul, Wonder Woman 1984, and lots and lots of (hopefully fantastic) NBA games.

And that’s while still participating on my The Clone Wars marathon, which leads into Star Wars: Rebels, and then The Mandalorian, and I probably won’t even be finished with that marathon before WandaVision hits on January 15.

There’s so much going on and I am just elated. It’s been such a boring year when it comes to entertainment but now it seems I just can’t keep up with all of the awesomeness.

I thank you for reading and I hope you have a great day. Happy Holidays!

Here Are Four Books That’ll Make a Great Christmas Gift This Year

It’s that time of year. Yes, this isn’t a year that we’ve quite experienced before with COVID-19 upending so many of our lives and casting a shadow on the holiday proceedings but through it all there is always a way to find joy. And this year, I’ve got more glorious books to share with you that’ll make beautiful memories with you and your family this Christmas. So, with no further delay, here are those books.

Christmas is Joy by Emma Dodd

Cute, cute, cute! This story with its simple rhymes is already cute but what puts it over the edge are the little details; silver snow, silver water, silver trees under a starry night sky. Your children will be captivated by this story and there’s a good chance you will be too.

Will You Be Watching ‘Wonder Woman 1984’ On Christmas or…Nah?

The release date for Wonder Woman 1984 has been moved to December 25…Christmas Day! to replace Dune‘s December release. I, for one, am not overly enthusiastic about the movie. I was but now, after seeing more of Barbera Minnerva/Cheetah, I’m not liking her as the main antagonist of this Wonder Woman sequel.

And that alone is why I will not be venturing to the movie theater on Christmas to see Wonder Woman 1984. What about you? Will you go with your family and friends on Christmas Day to see Wonder Woman kick some butt on the big screen? Feel free to share your thoughts in the comments below.

I thank you for reading and I hope you have a great day.

Looking Back: My Reactions to ‘Aquaman’ and ‘Bumblebee’

I just finished watching Bumblebee and am getting ready to see Aquaman but I figured while I have this break I might as well share with you all my near-live reaction to the film.

Bumblebee is a good movie through and through. Unlike every Transformers movie the story is clear, concise, and very easy to follow. None of the characters are annoying and the themes are very family friendly which is nice to see, considering that children like the Transformers just as much as adults.

I found the movie to be really fun and cute. There were some truly heartfelt moments that brought a tear (actually tears) to my eyes and when a movie can make me cry that means it’s touched my heart in one capacity or another.

Now I’m sharing my reaction to Aquaman. I can honestly say that it was worth every single penny. I’m still whirling from how good this movie was.

The visuals are out of this world amazing. The sound is fantastic, the story is engaging, and Aquaman is AWESOME! I honestly won’t go into any further detail than that because then I wouldn’t be able to stop talking about it.

I thank you for reading and I hope you have had a wonderful day.
