After months of clamoring for the Spider-Man: No Way Home trailer it is finally here. I have some thoughts but first, here it is.
I’m first going to start with the obvious positives.
A) Doctor Strange is back, has turned the lobby of the Sanctum Sanctorum into Antarctica (lol), and now the multiverse has been opened thanks to Peter not being able to stop talking. That’s totally on brand for Peter’s character and is definitely hilarious.
B) We’re totally about to get the Sinister Six and I am here for it.
It’s the last part of this updated ranking and now we’ve reached my new and improved top ten characters in the MCU moment. Some things will stay the same but there will definitely be some changes so, with no further delay, here are my ten favorite characters.
I’ve said this multiple times but her drunken entrance into the MCU was the instance that made me realize I loved this lady. She wasn’t your typical, flawless heroine who’s eye candy and a potential love interest for the male protagonist. She was a tough, heavy-drinking warrior lady with nice biceps and an even nicer sword/outfit to match.
When Valkyrie made her return in Endgame I loved her even more, specifically with her beautiful Pegasus and new spear. She’s always been one of my favorite characters and now I can’t wait to see her being King of Asgard.
9. Black Panther
King T’Challa is one of the greatest characters ever brought to the big screen. I mean, he’s an African king who just so happens to also be a superhero! How awesome is that?!
To think that Chadwick Boseman won’t be a part of the MCU anymore moving forward due to his passing last August is honestly still one of the most heartbreaking things that could happen. We’ll see how Ryan Coogler handles his death and how it fits into the sequel in a powerful, moving way but he will always remain one of my favorite Marvel characters for his epic contribution from 2016-19.
Spider-Man: No Way Home is pretty much the most highly-anticipated Marvel movies this year. Far from Home with such a wild cliffhanger that we’ve all been waiting to see what would happen next but now…with Loki opening the multiverse, it looks like things are going to get really, really interesting in the MCU.
Our first look at Spider-Man: No Way Home actually has nothing to do with a trailer but toys and it’s actually kind of awesome.
Since the trailer for Eternals has come out fans have been clamoring for the first official teaser of Spider-Man: No Way Home and while I’m pretty sure we won’t be getting the teaser (then again, maybe we will) there is a chance we’ll see it sometime this month ahead of the premiere of Black Widow. So, until then, here are some things I really want to see in the teaser.
My Favorite Marvel Superhero, Doctor Strange!
There were rumors that we’d be getting Doctor Strange as the new mentor-type character in this third Spider-Man installment and I want to know if that’s true or not. Of course, he may simply be in a post-credits scene but I would love it if he does play a sizable role in the actual film. Especially considering how much fun it was to see them interact in Infinity War.
A New and Improved Look for Foxx’s Electro
Jamie Foxx is a great actor and yet he was turned into what I feel is the worst adaptation of a comic book villain ever in The Amazing Spider-Man 2. His design was atrocious and it distracted from his part in the story. I hope to see his return in the teaser with an updated design that isn’t so aesthestically displeasing.
Considering that this will be nothing more than a teaser I don’t know what else to expect. Apparently Alfred Molina is returning to reprise his role as Doctor Octopus so we should see what happens with that but besides that tidbit of information I am very much in the dark about this movie and I can’t wait to see what it’s going to be about.
What do you want to see in the teaser? Feel free to share your thoughts in the comments below.
I thank you for reading and I hope you have a spectacular day.
Last night I kind of went on a Marvel binge. It was totally random, I wasn’t expecting it, but it was so much fun.
I began the evening (after watching Tarzan for basically only the third time in my life and crying my eyes out) by watching Doctor Strange, a film that has become my go-to Marvel flick. Watching it was fun, especially knowing that we’re finally getting the sequel next year and that the said sequel will include Wanda Maximoff. What a fascinating thought.
It’s also very exciting knowing that we will see Mordo again but this time around he will be a villain. I really feel a bit of a Steve/Bucky vibe between Strange and Mordo. They started as friends, will become enemies, but I can see them becoming allies again in the future against a greater evil.
And don’t forget, we’re getting America Chavez’s MCU debut in that movie too.
2021 is here and there’s a lot to be excited about but mainly, I’m thrilled to be returning to the storylines of so many characters and franchises in the coming months. I’m starting a new series featuring each of my favorite characters from different franchises and what I’m most excited to see with them. So, I decided to start this series with none other than my favorite superhero in the MCU, Doctor Strange.
If you had told me five years ago that Doctor Strange would end up becoming my favorite MCU superhero I wouldn’t have believed it but it became a fact after Infinity War.
We got to see him as the awesome Sorcerer Supreme that he is, handling business and taking on Thanos by himself with one of the most awe-inducing fight scenes in the MCU, no matter how short it is.
Now it seems that the magical doctor will be playing an even bigger role in the MCU moving forward. There’s already been confirmation that Doctor Strange will appear in WandaVision which makes sense considering that the Disney+ series has already been confirmed to tie into Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness. But that’s not even all!
Spider-Man 3 will feature Doctor Strange in a mentor-like role to Peter Parker in the similar vein to Tony Stark and Nick Fury’s mentor-like roles in both Spider-Man: Homecoming and Spider-Man: Far from Home. You have no idea how excited I am about this.
