The Pros and Cons of ‘Fantastic Beasts: The Crimes of Grindelwald’

Fantastic Beasts: The Crimes of Grindelwald, the sequel to Fantastic Beasts and Where To Find Them, a film that returned us to the magical world of witches and wizards living among us. After seeing the film once I decided to watch it again to refresh my memory on the film’s quality and boy was I refreshed…but not in a good way.

J.K Rowling delivers a powerful film 2 hour and 14-minute movie set, I think this is correct, 11 months after the events of the first film. Unfortunately, its “power” turns into a jumbled hodgepodge of a film that works too desperately to feel dark and important but ends up leaving you confused and exhausted by the end of the film.

Today, after analyzing the film for only the second time, I’m going to share with you the pros and cons of this movie. (Unfortunately, the cons far outweigh the pros.) Enjoy! Continue reading The Pros and Cons of ‘Fantastic Beasts: The Crimes of Grindelwald’

I’m Really Excited To See ‘Fantastic Beasts: The Crimes of Grindelwald’!

I can’t believe I’m saying this but I’m really EXCITED to see Fantastic Beasts: The Crimes of Grindelwald. I watched the first film and I didn’t like it all. I couldn’t even finish it in fact. But ever since I saw the first teaser for this highly-anticipated sequel I have been blown away by how magical it feels.

This movie has excited me at every turn and the marketing has been phenomenal. There hasn’t been too much marketing of the movie to make it sickening to see and the more I see of it the more I want to watch the film.

I’m loving the cast of characters. Everyone is interesting and bodes something fascinating for the film’s overall story. Especially Grindelwald. He sounds like a villain that’s going to be quite a menace. Awesome!

And I simply love the magical feeling this movie is giving me. Seeing Hogwarts again, the dining hall, young Dumbledore, there’s something about this film that is making me ridiculously happy.

So, even though The Crimes of Grindelwald is still three weeks away I am truly ecstatic to see it.

I thank you for reading and I hope you have a wonderful day.

The Final Trailer for ‘Fantastic Beasts: The Crimes of Grindelwald’ Is Here

I watched Fantastic Beasts and Where to Find Them, I didn’t like it, but ever since I saw the teaser for this Fantastic Beasts sequel I’ve been excited to see this movie. Now, we are but a couple of months away from this film entering theaters and its final trailer has just come out. Here it is.

I love that this is the final trailer, it showed a bunch of new, very awesomely magical footage, and I still don’t know what’s going on. That’s the fine art of trailer making. Trailers can tantalize you with exciting footage and tease plenty of epic moments but if I can’t predict the entire story of the film through the trailer that’s a mission accomplished.

What I hands down loved the most about this trailer was all of the magic (and young Dumbledore.) The Harry Potter movies are so exciting to watch because of those magical elements that make the Wizarding World an utterly fascinating place to delve into. To see so many incredible spells and charms and who knows what else in one trailer positively wowed me and I can’t wait to see it in IMAX.

And who doesn’t love seeing more with young Dumbledore. Dumbledore has always been a sort of mysterious character throughout the Harry Potter series so to learn a bit more about his past as, I’m guessing, a Defense Against the Dark Arts teacher decades before he became Headmaster of Hogwarts is kind of awesome!

Honestly, I can’t wait to see this movie and I think it’s going to be really fun to watch.

I thank you for reading and I hope you have a great day.

‘Fantastic Beasts: The Crimes of Grindelwald’ Has a Teaser Trailer!

I am a huge Harry Potter fan. I mean I can’t tell you the names of every single side character or fascinating creature in the movies but I have seen every single film and I have loved them all. When Harry Potter was officially over it was a little bittersweet considering that I had practically grown up with the movies but now, with this Fantastic Beasts series the Wizarding World is not gone and I’m definitely pleased about that.

Now I watched Fantastic Beasts and Where To Find Them at home last year and I did not like it at all. At first I did, considering that the movie was taking place in a different time, a different location than that of Hogwarts, and followed the stories of adults this time around rather than children and teenagers but it soon lost its magic (no pun intended) and fell flat very quickly. I disliked the movie so much I actually didn’t even finish it. And another thing that kept annoying me were the Beasts. Every rare beast was a giant bird creature. The imagination and creativity for the beasts was so lacking that I wanted to scream at times. And the CGI was pretty lackluster. All in all, it wasn’t a great debut to the new franchise.

It fell under The Phantom Menace effect because the Fantastic Beasts series is, essentially, a prequel and its debut film wasn’t nearly as good as it could’ve been.

Now it’s time for the Fantastic Beasts sequel to avenge itself and I believe it’s on its way to achieving that goal with this first teaser. Check it out:

The first thing that caught my attention was Hogwarts. Hogwarts is such a staple in the Wizarding World. It’s like seeing the Millenium Falcon in a Star Wars trailer. You’re going to immediately get excited.

Secondly, this movie will introduce a young Dumbledore which is AWESOME! Dumbledore was such a great wizard and to see him have more of a role as we get to know him in his younger years is even greater.

Third, it’s an exciting teaser. The music could’ve definitely been better but I’m happy to see this teaser caught some of that magical Harry Potter essence into its trailer with an, of course, more mature aspect as well.

Oh, and the action looked pretty enticing. The action in the first Fantastic Beasts was LAME and I’m glad to see that it doesn’t look that’ll be the case this time around.

I also like the villain more this time around.

Johnny Depp is known for playing strange characters and I know he will deliver as the villain of this new movie. In fact, I’m kind of excited to see the man who brought the dastardly Jack Sparrow to life play a wizard. That’ll be very fun to observe.

This series is undoubtedly much different than the Harry Potter series was and, if done correctly, could truly become something worth getting excited for. I love anything that’s part of the Harry Potter world so I’m hoping this movie will not disappoint and will actually be very enjoyable.

I thank you for reading and I hope you have a magical day.
