I have never watched Mary Poppins. The only thing I know about Mary Poppins is the “Supercalifragilisticexpealidocious” song and the other song that says, “Just a spoonful of sugar makes the medicine go down.” Besides that Mary Poppins is just as much of a mystery to me as Dumbo. So today the official trailer for the Mary Poppins sequel came out and I, of course, watched the trailer. Here it is.
After seeing this trailer I want to watch this movie now. First of all, I love Disney movies. In fact, the first film I ever watched in IMAX was Alice in Wonderland.
There’s something so distinctly magical about these live-action Disney films that are awash in vibrant color and stunning characters, creatures, and fantasy worlds and this movie is no exception.
At first this trailer had me a bit bored and uninterested but then as the trailer got better my awe grew more and more and by the end I was covered in goosebumps, I had a smile on my face, and I was completely wowed by what I had just experienced just from the trailer! It was as if I had gone on a magical ride with Mary Poppins herself in this tantalizing teaser.
And I can already say this. Emily Blunt is a GREAT Mary Poppins. 🙂
I thank you for reading and I hope you have a magical day.
Four years ago Edge of Tomorrow premiered in theaters around the world. The trailers and commercials didn’t excite me and I almost didn’t want to see the film. But my family and I decided to take a chance on it and so we went to see it over Maleficent which had also just recently come out. It was one of the greatest movie surprises I’ve ever had.
Edge of Tomorrow is a classic alien invasion story with a Groundhog Day twist as one man (played by none other than Tom Cruise) is forced to relive a traumatic day that leads to a horrendous battle over and over and over again. He acquires the help of an acclaimed warrior, Rita Vrataski, and together they are dealt with the task of defeating the aliens before they take over the world.
It’s an action-packed science fiction film unlike any other alien invasion movie I’ve ever seen and clearly one of my Tom Cruise favorites. If you liked War of the Worlds this film will utterly blow your mind.
It did so well in fact that now a sequel, which will be helmed by the same director, Doug Liman, is in the works. But here’s the catch. The sequel is actually going to be a prequel that once again features Tom Cruise and Emily Blunt kicking some more alien booty. Um…awesome!
How it’s going to work, I have no idea, but Doug Liman has said that he intends this movie to change the way we view sequels. That sounds pretty cool and I can’t wait to see it. 🙂
I thank you for reading and I hope you have a great day.
When I saw the trailer for A Quiet Place I immediately knew I wanted to see this movie. I’m not a fan of scary movies in the slightest. I can barely watch leastwise hear The Exorcist and I’ve just recently gotten the guts to watch The Shining all the way through. Scary movies are my allergy but this film felt like something I had to see. I’ve never seen a movie where the premise is that you have to stay completely silent to avoid being found by a mysterious something or else you will perish. I knew this film was going to be scary but the premise sounded too original and cool not to watch. I ended up missing the opportunity to see it in the movie theaters but last night I finally got to see it at home and it was surprisingly better than I expected.
A Quiet Place is about a family who in a post-apocalyptic world where any sound can get them killed are just trying to survive. The movie starts a little slow but soon establishes the seriousness of the situation the family is going through in a legitimately horrifying fashion. The story then showcases the family living a somewhat ordinary life despite their obvious noise-making hindrance but when life hits with a bang things go awry real fast.
What impressed me the most about this film is its realistic situations. This movie could’ve easily turned south real fast by having the family participate in wild escapades that would’ve turned the film into a typical PG-13 action film where the protagonists are supposedly invincible (like Jurassic World: Fallen Kingdom.) The writers for A Quiet Place, however, kept the suspense up and never let the movie get corny in any way. Let me give you an example. SPOILERS AHEAD!
