If Finn Was a Jedi

One of the coolest things about being a Star Wars fan is theorizing the movies. Since The Force Awakens there have been a LOT of theories to pore over and enjoy but one of the theories that I have always been the most interested in is whether Finn was force-sensitive or not. If you may recall, I wrote a post about his possibility of being Force sensitive earlier this year and I’m still hoping that he does end up being a tad bit Force-sensitive in Episode IX.

And my sister shares my same imagination toward Finn. In fact, she has drawn a certain piece of fan art that imagines Finn as a Jedi and it turned out to be so absolutely incredible I wanted to share it with all of you. Here it is.

Jedi Knight Finn

Isn’t. This. Amazing?! Not only is it a beautiful drawing but it looks nearly identical to the actual John Boyega!

I’ve always imagined Finn as a Jedi but to see what it could possibly look like is even more fantastic. Who knows? Maybe it’ll become true and we’ll get to see him use the Force in an exciting way in Episode IX. Maybe he’ll turn out to be like Leia. She had the Force but she didn’t exactly become a Jedi. She was able to use the power for intuition and even, in dire circumstances, to save herself from death but she was never a full-blown Jedi knight. Maybe Finn’s Force-sensitivity will be on the same level.

Whatever the case, this painting is awesome and I’ve loved sharing it with you all.

I thank you for reading and I hope you have a wonderful day. May the Force be with you.

Here Are Some ‘Episode IX’ Title Theories

The fascinating thing about Star Wars titles are their clear but mysterious meanings. The Phantom Menace could mean many different things but it ultimately conveyed that the film was focusing on the secret rising of Darth Sidious. The Force Awakens could have easily meant a lot of things as well. It obviously, however, references the awakening of the Force within Rey but it also may link to the possible awakening of the Force within Finn (here’s the theory that surrounds that) or the arrival of Kylo Ren’s rise to true power. And then The Last Jedi was an ambiguous title because it could have been a plural or singular meaning. If it had been plural it would’ve clearly been talking about both Luke and Rey. But if it was singular then it’s probably talking about Rey, as Luke stated that she was, in fact, “the last Jedi.”

So, now with Episode IX filming the question of its title is up in the air for Star Wars fans to contemplate and I happen to be one of those fans. So, today I’m going to share with you some theoretic titles and my reasoning behind those names. Enjoy!

Are The Knights of Ren Going To Be Force-Sensitive?

One of the more interesting scenes in The Force Awakens is Rey’s vision. For years I have been discovering new, exciting things in that one scene but one of the elements to that part that has always fascinated me are the Knights of Ren.

They’ve only made a single, brief appearance in that temporary moment in the movie but they have captured the attention of Star Wars fan all over the world. Now, with Episode IX filming and leaks arriving on the web of Adam Driver filming heavy action scenes with people wielding spears and axes (sounds like the Knights of Ren to me) it’s pretty obvious that we will be getting a major introduction to the shady group sooner rather than later. But here’s the question; are they going to be Force-sensitive?

This ‘Star Wars’ Fan Theory About Rey’s Parents Will Blow. Your. Mind!

One of the biggest mysteries that sprouted from The Force Awakens was the secret identity of Rey’s parents. The whole story of Star Wars is heavily themed around the idea of family. In the original trilogy Luke found out his father was Darth Vader (*gasp*) and his sister was his best friend, Princess Leia. These two twists were huge reveals and plot points in Luke’s journey and the overall trilogy.

In the prequel trilogy Anakin’s downfall was because of his attachment to the people he loved. He lost his mother, which was the first peg that fell out of his equilibrium. And then the thought of losing Padme sent him over the edge.

Now the current trilogy has circled around the aspect of family in the plotlines between Han, Leia, and their dark side son, Kylo Ren, but Rey is just as important in the family department. We just don’t know who her family is exactly.

Kylo Ren dropped a bombshell by saying Rey’s parents were essentially nobodies who died in Jakku but that just isn’t true. In fact, I have the proof which you can read here. But the question of who her parents could actually be is still lingering out there for us to hopefully and decisively discover.

I’ve read a lot of theories over the past three and a half years about who she could be related to but this latest one is so legit it’s almost scary. So, of course, I had to share it with you and my thoughts on the theory. Enjoy!

It’s Official. Lando Is Going To Appear in ‘Episode IX’

Lucasfilm hasn’t confirmed that Billy Dee Williams will reprise his role for Episode IX but it’s become obvious that he will as he has recently canceled a bunch of his conference engagements throughout the rest of the year. Hmm, I wonder why. And honestly, this is great news.

Every classic Star Wars character besides Lando has been involved with this current trilogy. For years Star Wars fans have been wondering where is everyone’s favorite caped smuggler-turned-rebel? We had been given the explanation that he was once again Baron of Cloud City but that felt like a sorry excuse not to have him participate in the films. I’m so glad to think that finally he will get the recognition he deserves and play, hopefully, a decent-sized role in this upcoming Star Wars movie.

Ah, I’m so excited! I can’t wait to see what Lando will be up to over thirty years after the events of Return of the Jedi and I’m so glad J.J Abrams is telling this story. He brought so much magic and nostalgia to The Force Awakens with his perfect revival of these classic characters which means he will provide Lando plenty of justice.

I would also love to see a settled down Lando with potentially a wife or at least a child. When the first rumors started coming out for Episode IX one of those rumors was that a young actress of color was being cast for a mysterious role and some people, including me, suspected that this new character could be Lando’s daughter. Wouldn’t that be awesome?

Not only would that perfectly fit in with the tone of this trilogy which is highly focused one the next generation of young heroes but I think I would lose it if Lando returned with a beautiful daughter in tow. I mean, can you imagine how cool she would be, cape and all?

Of course, this may be a bunch of bologna and Lando may not return in Episode IX after all, for like I said before, Lucasfilm hasn’t confirmed he will appear in this trilogy finale. But if he does it will be very exciting indeed. 🙂

I thank you for reading and I hope you have a splendid day. May the Force be with you.

Should the Knights of Ren Still Wear Masks in ‘Episode IX’?

Episode IX is getting close to officially beginning filming and that means news about the film will probably be released within the next half year or so. One of the few, if only, topic that was not tampered with in The Last Jedi were the Knights of Ren.

We were introduced to the dark group in The Force Awakens through conversations between Snoke and Kylo Ren and a disturbing vision Rey obtained where we saw a quick flash of them. I think they were subtly hinted towards in The Last Jedi as Luke told Rey Ben Solo left his former burning Jedi temple with a handful of his students which definitely sounds like a nod towards the Knight of Ren. And it seems kind of inevitable that they will make their first official debut in this upcoming trilogy finale but things have changed since The Force Awakens.

Snoke is dead and Kylo Ren is the new Supreme Leader. And he has destroyed his old mask, no longer feeling that he needed to hide behind it anymore as it was a sign of weakness rather than intimidation or strength. So, will he let his fellow Knights of Ren followers to continue to be masked or will we finally get to see the faces behind these scary helmets?

How Should Leia Be Written Out of ‘Episode IX’?

One of the unexpected tragedies of 2016 was the surprise passing of Hollywood icon, Carrie Fisher. She died shortly before Episode VIII was even given a title and throughout the entire process of marketing for The Last Jedi it was chilling to think that this would be Leia’s final appearance in a Star Wars movie. I remember when I watched The Last Jedi for the first time I was patiently waiting to see how they would release her from this franchise. Time and time again it seemed like she was going to die but by the end of the film I was legitimately surprised to see that she was still very much alive in the context of the story and seemed to have no signs of passing away anytime soon. So that left me (and I’m sure the writers of Episode IX) with quite a conundrum to figure out. How is Lucasfilm going to possibly write out such an important character at such a pivotal time in the Resistance? Well, I have a few ideas that I would like to share and maybe these theories will turn out to be correct. Who knows. 🙂

Leia Slowly Succumbs To Grief

Star-Wars-The-Last-Jedi-General-Leia.jpg

Throughout Leia’s involvement in the Star Wars franchise she has experienced a lot of sorrow and heartbreak and The Last Jedi only built on that narrative. In The Last Jedi we got to see her having an intimate moment with her own thoughts and worries and it was one of the most profound scenes in the film as we got to see Leia vulnerable for the first time. While Rian Johnson, of course, didn’t know that Carrie Fisher was going to die it seems like he has perfectly set up this idea that General Leia has grown old and tired, she’s looking for newer, younger leadership to take her place in the form of Poe Dameron, and after the loss of her brother, Luke Skywalker, she slowly begins to give in to the grief that she has been trying to suppress since the annihilation of Alderaan. But does that tarnish Leia’s legacy?

For years she has been viewed as this strong, independent heroine who doesn’t take orders from anybody and refuses to be placed in the damsel-in-distress mold. Should a woman like this finally face death from a cause of immense heartbreak? I don’t know, honestly.
