Ranking the Characters in the Marvel Cinematic Universe: Part 4

We’re down to the top twenty characters. This is where the fun begins. 😁

Enjoy!

20. Star-Lord

Peter Quill is one of those characters that isn’t exactly a bona fide hero-type but being the lovable scoundrel that he is, you can’t help but like him. He’s hilarious but he can be brave and loyal to his team in a very profound way thanks to his ultimately tragic backstory of losing his mother.

I’m intrigued to see where his story will go from here now that he’s lost the woman he loves. Is he still on a mission to find her or has he given up? I’m sure all of these questions will be answered in Guardians of the Galaxy.

19. Falcon/Captain America

The Falcon and the Winter Soldier Considered More Captain America Candidates - Den of Geek

When Sam Wilson debuted as Falcon in Captain America: The Winter Soldier I was already a fan of the character but of course, it’s his turn as an Avenger that made him even more interesting. From there on out, he never played a major role in the MCU but he would, eventually, be passed the mantle of Captain America.

What then transpired was a long study of Sam repelling this responsibility being passed to him and then eventually obliging and taking on the mantle once it became clear he was the only man fit for the job. Now he’s Captain America and I can’t wait to see where his story goes from here.

A Special Fan Art Monday

It’s Monday and I’m in the mood for sharing some awesome fan art, namely fan art surrounding my new favorite Disney+ show (yes, even over The Mandalorian) The Falcon and the Winter Soldier. Enjoy!

Bucky! The color palette, the arm, the expression, that awesome jacket! This picture is beautiful, pure and simple. It’s undoubtedly one of my favorite Bucky fan art pieces that I’ve seen.

It’s Falcon and I’m so excited about it. The red, white, and blue is highlighted as the primary color of the piece but it doesn’t feel overwhelming or too on the nose. In fact, it’s just right! Plus, it just looks gorgeous.

In another two weeks I’ll share some more exceptional The Falcon and the Winter Soldier fan art from the incredibly gifted and always exceptional Uzuri Art whose Instagram is definitely worth a look. There’s some art on their page that will blow. Your. MIND!

I thank you for reading and I hope you have a spectacular day.

The Striking Parallels Between ‘The Falcon and the Winter Soldier’ and ‘Captain America: The Winter Soldier’

The Falcon and the Winter Soldier has two episodes now and while the series is my favorite piece of MCU content since Infinity War, the parallels between this show and The Winter Soldier is striking. For the first time in the MCU, we have been given a story that actually mirrors the basic structure and story beats of a previous installment and yet it’s this style of storytelling for The Falcon and the Winter Soldier that makes it so compelling. So, with no further ado, let’s look at these fascinating story parallels and what a continuation of this approach for The Falcon and the Winter Soldier could mean for the show.

SPOILERS for The Falcon and the Winter Soldier AHEAD!

The Opening Words

How did Captain America: The Winter Soldier begin? With Sam and Steve interacting in this perfect scene that immediately established the two characters as burgeoning friends.

Falcon and the Winter Soldier episode 1 recap: Captain America's legacy leaves Sam lost - CNET

In The Falcon and the Winter Soldier, the series opens on a more somber note, showing the incredible contrast between their first meeting and their last onscreen time together in the MCU (the moment when an old Steve Rogers gives Sam the shield.)

The first words we hear are being said by both Sam and Steve.

Steve: “What does it feel like?”

Sam: “Like it’s someone else’s.”

Steve: “It’s not.”

It shows immediately how far the characters’ relationship has grown over the years and that this is now Sam’s story, not Rogers.

‘The Falcon and the Winter Soldier’ Delivers Another Stellar Episode

I watched the season premiere of The Falcon and the Winter Soldier five times in the last week, that’s how much I enjoyed it. It opening action sequence had me marveling at the screen, the character development felt both rewarding and poignant, and the first episode just really started off with a bang. The only nitpick I’d have to say about the first episode was that it almost felt TOO similar to Captain America: The Winter Soldier all the way down to the story beats and I was kind of missing the originality that we got to see with WandaVision.

So this morning I watched the second episode and right from the get-go you get the feeling that it’s really going to delve into more character development that’ll enhance the story greatly.

SPOILERS AHEAD!

I Just Read a Potential Spoiler for ‘The Falcon and the Winter Soldier’…And Now I Really Want It to Happen!

The first episode of The Falcon and the Winter Soldier delved into some fascinating character development for its title characters but it didn’t fail to introduce some fun side characters along the way; namely First Lieutenant Torres, Sam’s sister Sarah Wilson, Bucky’s therapist, and Bucky’s new hangout buddy, Yori Nakashima.

Torres was a breakout star from the first episode among viewers and now I’ve learned something that has absolutely blown my mind. Now, it may be a MAJOR SPOILER what I’m about to say so if you’d rather stay surprised STOP READING NOW!

Okay…here we go.

‘The Falcon and the Winter Soldier’ Starts Off With an Emotional Bang

The Falcon and the Winter Soldier. I’ve been excited for this show for practically over a year. The series premiere has confirmed why I was so excited in the first place.

Sticking true to the theme that has made this series so intriguing (Captain America: The Winter Soldier) The Falcon and the Winter Soldier feels like a direct correlation to the movie, even providing blatant parallels to the structure of the story and the themes while also giving us something new thanks to the series delving into Sam and Bucky’s stories, two characters who have always been interesting but never given the full chance to shine.

The Falcon and the Winter Soldier Episode 1 – What Did You Think?!

Anthony Mackie is already taking full advantage of this opportunity to showcase his character under the spotlight. Already there is so much more depth to Sam Wilson in literally the opening scene of the show than his entire time in the MCU so far. It’s fascinating.
