The New Trailer for ‘Spider-Man: Far from Home’ Reminds Me Why I Love Marvel

Avengers: Endgame has been out for the last two weeks. Because the film is such a gigantic spoiler in itself there has been a campaign for the last three weeks now called #DontSpoiltheEndgame. Well, that campaign ended today and low and behold Marvel dropped the newest trailer for Spider-Man: Far from Home. Let me tell you, I didn’t realize this trailer was going to be this awesome but it was so good my family and I rewatched it like five times in a row. That rarely happens.

Endgame was the end of the Infinity Saga but it turns out it may have been the beginning of something much more incredible. Here’s the trailer.

Spoilers ahead.

Woo! A Teaser for ‘Spider-Man: Far from Home’ Is Here!

Glass is coming this Friday and that means trailers for some of the year’s most anticipated films are starting to drop, hence the Spider-Man: Far from Home trailer. I honestly wasn’t expecting this but I am so thrilled. So, with no further delay, here’s the trailer.

Oh my goodness, I’m loving this teaser! At first, the trailer takes the cute route, highlighting a hilarious bit of flirting between Aunt May and Happy (ha!) and a hint at a predictably imminent blossoming of a romance between Peter Parker and MJ. And then everything takes a wild turn as Nick Fury drops in to crash the party.

Suddenly the trailer takes a more serious approach and we are provided a seriously awesome minute-long display of awesome clips featuring Peter Parker in a couple of different Spider-Man suits, a giant Fire man, a giant Earth man, and a giant Water man who are wreaking havoc in Europe.

And just when it seems the trailer can’t get any better…

*drum roll*

Mysterio shows up in all of his splendid glory. Mind blown!

I am SO surprised at how cool Mysterio looks in this trailer. If you had told me that Jake Gyllenhaal would turn out to be one of the coolest looking characters in the MCU so far I would’ve laughed but now, after seeing this trailer, I am already a fan.

And his powers are so cool, whatever those may be. I know he can fly and I know he has some sort of green smoke looking stuff and I am super intrigued. Gosh, I love Spider-Man villains.

All in all, this trailer just made my day. Unlike the Avengers: Endgame trailer, which was fine but totally underwhelming, this teaser was utter perfection and clearly one of the best Marvel trailers to date.

The classic Spider-Man theme was perfect, the setup for the teaser’s story was great, and I loved seeing all of the familiar faces again.

The only thing that was a bit bizarre was the sort of happiness about the trailer. If this is supposed to be after the events of Avengers: Endgame shouldn’t things seem a bit chaotic? It’s all so very strange but I’m sure after Avengers: Endgame I will understand.

Here’s the teaser poster for Spider-Man: Far from Home.

Jake Gyllenhaal Joins the Marvel Cinematic Universe

While the old era of the MCU is coming to an end a new era is arising and with it comes new characters and new villains to be explored. It was recently announced that the famed actor, Jake Gyllenhaal will be joining the MCU family as the new villain set to appear in Spider-Man: Homecoming 2 next summer. He will play the villainous role of Mysterio which, after reading up on the character, excites me a lot and perfectly matches with the story at hand considering Mysterio, in the comics, teamed up with The Tinkerer who has already made his debut in Spider-Man: Homecoming.

He also, in the comics, pretended to be Spider-Man and framed him for robberies and other horrible deeds like that. That could prove to be a tough obstacle for Peter Parker and definitely sounds like a greater challenge than he faced last time against The Vulture. I can’t wait to see the MCU version of this character and what he’ll mean to the story moving forward.

Does this news excite you as well and what other Spider-Man villains would you like to make an appearance in the MCU? I’d love to hear your opinions in the comments below.
