The Official Trailer for ‘Dune’ Is Here!

It’s getting closer. Dune‘s time is almost upon us and I know for a fact it’s going to be one of the biggest events of the year. The official trailer dropped today and here’s a note; if you’d rather stay in the dark about the story then I really would refrain from watching this trailer because it shows a lot. But nevertheless, here’s the official trailer for Dune.

Epic. That’s all I can think when I see this trailer. It’s going to be an epic experience in IMAX. One that will remain in my heart for years to come.

I’m glad I watched the old Dune movie from 1984 because I can actually look at this and see things that I recognize which is really exciting, to be honest. This looks like a faithful reboot of a story that deserves to be seen on the big screen these days.

The hype is real.

I thank you for reading and I hope you have a lovely day.

The Trailer for ‘Dune’ Is NIIIIICE

Okay, first off I’d like to announce that I’m one of those people who has no idea about Dune‘s story. I’ve managed to garner a bit of an idea of what is going on in this film through my father’s small details of the movie and the synopsis provided but besides that…I’m in the dark.

Thankfully, this three-minute-long trailer still didn’t give me an idea of what this new (and very epic looking) story is about and I am ready for it. Here’s the trailer.

Here Are Twelve Actors Who Have Played Two Different Characters in Superhero Movies

Over the years I have watched dozens of superhero movies. Some are lame and mostly forgettable, others are utterly fantastic and downright riveting. Today, I’m sharing with you a list of actors who have managed to cross superhero franchises, sometimes in the to play multiple roles. Enjoy!

12. Peter Dinklage

Peter Dinklage, known for his numerous roles in cinema as well as his most popular role on Game of Thrones, would play small roles in X-Men: Days of Future Past and Avengers: Infinity War as Dr. Bolivar Trask and the giant dwarf, Eitri. I loved him as Eitri. It was quite a surprise that I wasn’t expecting. Continue reading Here Are Twelve Actors Who Have Played Two Different Characters in Superhero Movies

My Sister’s Opinion: The Difference Between Thanos in ‘Avengers: Infinity War’ and ‘Avengers: Endgame’

Thanos is a stunningly complex character. That’s why Avengers: Infinity War was such a great film; because it explored his journey in a way where, by the end of the movie, he is the winner and The Avengers have been terribly defeated, some even turned to nothing but dust before our very eyes.

And the reason for Thanos’s domination is for one reason, which is evident once watching Endgame: he was 2018 Thanos. I call him Wise Thanos.

Wise Thanos hails from a time when he has been defeated by The Avengers in 2012. When his puppet Ronan betrayed him to claim the Power Stone…and who was immediately squashed by the Guardians of the Galaxy, who he quickly learned about. Wise Thanos has lost his greatest nuisance in Loki. Both his daughters, Gamora and Nebula, are gone.

One has betrayed him and is part of the Guardians of the Galaxy, showing her allegiances have changed drastically. And Nebula almost prevailed in ending his life.

This Wise Thanos is the one who, at the end of Avengers: Age of Ultron, says, “Fine, I’ll do it myself.”

“Myself” is the keyword in this instance. No longer was he allowing his Black Order and his daughters or Loki to gather the Infinity Stones. He took the initiative, finding each and every one of them, and taking them for his own despite the mighty heroes and forces that stood in his way. All those years of conquest and destruction were parlayed for the conclusion of his mission.

Then, you have 2014 Thanos, who I call Egotistic Thanos. Continue reading My Sister’s Opinion: The Difference Between Thanos in ‘Avengers: Infinity War’ and ‘Avengers: Endgame’

A Movie Ranking: Josh Brolin

Josh Brolin is an actor I’ve just met over the recent years but he has clearly ascended to becoming one of my favorite actors for his work in a variety of films. Today, I thought it would be perfect to highlight him for this week’s A Movie Ranking. Enjoy!

9. Everest

Everest (2015)

As someone who binge-watched all three seasons of the thrilling reality television series on Discovery Channel, Everest: Beyond the Limit, this movie was rather boring in comparison.

8. The Goonies

The Goonies (1985)

I watched The Goonies once. I wasn’t a fan. (One thing I didn’t know. Josh Brolin was in it. Wow!)

7. Sicario: Day of the Soldado

Josh Brolin, Benicio Del Toro, and Isabela Merced in Sicario: Day of the Soldado (2018)

Sicario was great. Its sequel, not so much.

6. Men in Black III

Tommy Lee Jones, Will Smith, and Josh Brolin in Men in Black 3 (2012)

Seven years ago I went to see Men in Black III with my family in the movie theaters. At the time I had no idea who Josh Brolin was. Now, after my recent viewing watching the film, I was impressed by Brolin’s incredible impression of Tommy Lee Jones.

5. Sicario

Josh Brolin, Benicio Del Toro, and Emily Blunt in Sicario (2015)

Sicario is an amazing film. From the directing to the music to the cinematography, and of course the acting, Sicario is a movie that you won’t soon forget. And, naturally, Josh Brolin’s character Matt Graver manages to stand out.

4. Avengers: Endgame

Avengers: Endgame is a remarkable movie, clearly. There’s a reason why it’s the highest-grossing film of all time. However, while Josh Brolin still manages to steal the show, the character of Thanos is greatly watered down as opposed to his role in Infinity War.

3. Labor Day

Talk about a romantic movie that’ll have you riveted. Labor Day is SO GOOD!!! If you’ve never seen it, please watch it. It’s worth it.

2. Avengers: Infinity War

Josh Brolin killed it is Thanos. It’s rare to be scared of a villain immediately but the writers made sure to let us know that Thanos was no joke, instantly. Josh Brolin, through the purple skin and CGI, brought an authenticity to the character that made him feel genuinely powerful yet…human. From a certain point of view, one can actually understand Thanos’ intentions, that is until he kills the heroes we love.

Josh Brolin is undoubtedly one of the best comic-book villains of all time.

1. No Country for Old Men

No Country for Old Men is my favorite movie of all time. No doubt about it. The dark storytelling, the continuous plot twists, and that ending. Woo. I wasn’t ready but I’m so glad I watched this.

So, this is my movie ranking featuring Josh Brolin. I can’t wait to share with you my next movie ranking next week. It should be fun.

I thank you for reading and I hope you have a wonderful day.
