‘Zack Snyder’s Justice League’ Was Fun…Now Let’s Come Back to Reality

I’ve been seeing a lot of chatter surrounding Zack Snyder’s Justice League since it debuted Friday; it’s one of the best comic book movies ever made, it’s the best DCEU movie, #RestoretheSnyderVerse, Jared Leto’s Joker is the best Joker, you get the theme. The hype is real. And while Zack Snyder’s Justice League did prove to be far better than the original Justice League movie we have to pump the brakes on the excitement and face the facts.

I’ve seen so many people saying how Snyder is such a great movie maker and that more movie studios need to allow directors to tell their own stories and let their characters develop. Well, that’s just fine but is anyone else realizing that Zack Snyder’s Justice League was a special event and that we will most likely never have another four hour superhero movie?

My Review of ‘Zack Snyder’s Justice League’

I am a superhero movie fan. Why? Because I’ve seen so many I sometimes can’t remember all of the ones I’ve seen. I’m talking watching even the crappiest ones like Elektra and I even tried to watch Green Lantern (I didn’t make it very far.)

I have even watched all of the DCEU movies (Man of Steel, Batman vs. Superman, Justice League, Wonder Woman, The Suicide Squad, Wonder Woman 1984, Shazam!, Aquaman, and Birds of Prey.) My top three are Shazam!, Man of Steel, and Wonder Woman. The rest fall into a pack of not-so-great-superhero-movies with Aquaman just edging out the others as an every-once-in-the-while film.

I went into Zack Snyder’s Justice League expecting it to be better than Whedon’s cut. It was…and that is about it. Snyder’s version is four hours of bloated, testerone-inspired superhero nonsense that left me still confused by the end of the movie even though we supposedly got two extra hours of content to make the story easier to follow.

So, because I have a lot to say I’m going to break this review into pros and cons. And of course, we will take the cons head on first.

SPOILERS AHEAD!

The Next Two Days Are Going to Be So Fun!

I’m excited! It’s very rare to get a chance to see two superhero-related things in the same week and yet, that’s what we’re getting. Tomorrow, Zack Snyder’s Justice League comes out and I can’t wait to see it. Do I think it’s going to be good? Not really. I think it’s going to be a bloated, pretentious mess of a movie that offers some cool visuals and moments but ultimately remains pretty lame. I hope I’m wrong.

And then on Friday we get the premiere of The Falcon and the Winter Soldier which I am VERY excited about. I’ve loved both The Falcon and the Winter Soldier since their roles in Captain America: The Winter Soldier and to think that we get a chance to see these characters evolve and have the spotlight cast on them for the first time is simply exhilarating. Plus, I’m just ready to see Sam take the mantle as Captain America because he has been so underrated for so long .

All in all, the next two days are going to be really fun and I’m EXCITED!!!!

I thank you for reading and I hope you have a splendid day.

Which Movie Am I Looking Most Forward To This Month?

March is going to be a busy movie month. There’s Chaos Walking and Raya and the Last Dragon, Coming 2 America and Justice League: The Snyder Cut, and of course, Godzilla vs. Kong. Of these five movies which am I most looking forward to?

Chaos Walking

This film starring Daisy Ridley and Tom Holland was supposed to come out years ago but extensive reshoots (because the movie was reportedly unwatchable) led the film to being delayed over and over again. Then COVID hit and it was delayed yet again but now, it’s finally coming out this Friday.

Will I be watching this movie? Definitely not. I love Ridley and Holland but honestly, I don’t want to see them in a movie together. Ridley’s blond wig looks ridiculous and clearly doesn’t even look like she would have hair like that. And honestly, the thought of her and Holland having a romance is just icky to me. That’s a fandom crossover that I don’t want to see.
