‘Enola Holmes 2’ Is an Enjoyable Sequel

When Enola Holmes came out two years ago I was expecting to be bored and maybe even annoyed with the new take on the iconic Holmes story. Instead, I was swept along for the ride, becoming entirely invested in Sherlock’s little sister, played by Millie Bobby Brown.

Just this past weekend, the film’s sequel, aptly titled Enola Holmes 2 came out and I am happy to say it was very entertaining.

‘Godzilla Vs. Kong’ Is Worst Than I Thought It Would Be

Before I delve deep into this review allow me to let you know that I watched this at home and not in theaters, so my experience may be tarnished by the fact that I didn’t have IMAX speakers pounding my ears with the massive sound effects. That being said…Godzilla Vs. Kong is my least favorite of the Monsterverse movies and here’s why.

Godzilla vs. Kong' Review | Hollywood Reporter

Going into this movie I was not expecting some profound, emotional story with great character developments and scintillating action sequences. I was expecting the humans to be standing around looking dumbfounded as Godzilla and Kong beat each other to a pulp and destroy everything in their path. And that’s exactly what this movie gave us, but what this film lacked that the other movies didn’t was a slight likability to the characters and a fantastic climax.

Godzilla Vs. Kong focuses on Kong more than anything, delivering a brief skirmish between the title characters forty minutes into the movie before waiting about thirty-forty minutes to get to the part everyone was waiting for. The climactic battle takes place in Hong Kong where Godzilla and Kong go at it like there’s no tomorrow, treating the city like their own personal playground and demolishing it with no regret, leaving me to realize that millions of people were being killed meaninglessly and yet the humans that we supposedly care about never get harmed.

Of course, there’s always a bigger monster, that being Mecha Godzilla who Godzilla and Kong have to fight in order to retain their supremacy. Honestly, I just sat back and watched this movie with such a lack of interest or enjoyment that even I was a bit surprised at my lackadaisical nature.

I’ve seen Transformers movies far better than this and yet they got far worse Rotten Tomatoes scores. How is this any different because I found this movie to be on the level of Transformers: The Last Knight and I personally thought that was a slightly better movie (’cause I’ve seen it all the way through three times.)

All in all, Godzilla Vs. Kong will please moviegoers if they are looking for a mega monster mash in IMAX and others who watch it at home may enjoy it too but I personally was not a fan.

I’m giving this film 70 out of 100 and 3 out of 5 stars,

I thank you for reading and I hope you have a fantastic day.

Movie Review Flashback: ‘Godzilla: King of the Monsters’ Rumbles But It Also Fumbles

Tssk, tssk, tssk. Godzilla, Godzilla. Why do you always break my heart? This is one of the most epic creations in movie history. Godzilla, like King Kong, and the dinosaurs for the Jurassic Park movies, are incredible beasts that deserve to be brought to life in the most magnificent ways on the big screen. The Jurassic Park franchise, however, is the only franchise who seems to handle the story surrounding these ancient creatures in an enjoyable way.

Five years ago my family and I went to see Godzilla. We were royally disappointed. I mean just absolutely livid at how terrible the film was. I didn’t think I would fall for the trap again. And then, with every special IMAX viewing of Godzilla: King of the Monsters I wanted to see the movie more and more. I saw the 40% score on Rotten Tomatoes. I ignored it. I figured people hated Transformers: Age of Extinction (it has an 18% Rotten Tomatoes score) but I LOVED it. I loved it so much I went and saw it three times at the movie theaters. Maybe this film would be better than the critics said it was. It wasn’t.

Millie Bobby Brown and Salma Hayek Are Rumored to Star In ‘The Eternals’

The Eternals has been Marvel Studios’ top-secret project for years and now, finally, the pieces are starting to fall into place. Prominent Hollywood stars have already been cast in the upcoming superhero phenomenon such as Maleficent‘s Angelina Jolie, Bodyguard‘s Richard Madden, and The Big Sick‘s Kumail Nanjiani. But now it seems that two more big names may join the party.

Stranger Things‘ star Millie Bobby Brown is rumored to play a sizable role in the film and Salma Hayek is also set to star in the superhero movie. Salma Hayek, however, is in the cast list for the film, meaning she will most likely play a role in The Eternals while Millie Bobby Brown, like I said before, is only rumored.

Maybe we’ll learn in the coming months. That sure would be fantastic.

Are you excited to Salma Hayek or Millie Bobby Brown in The Eternals? Feel free to share your thoughts in the comments below.

I thank you for reading and I hope you have a great day.
