My Top Ten Favorite Marvel Female Characters: Updated

Marvel has a lot of characters and all of them have their own charm. To write these sort of ranking lists pertaining to the MCU is so much harder for me than something like Star Wars because I love so many of the characters but for now, I’ll give it a go. Enjoy!

10. Agnes

WandaVision' Broke the MCU's Reality and It Was Very On-Brand

Agnes a.k.a Agatha Harkness was an instant favorite of mine when she waltzed into Wanda’s life in the first episode of WandaVision and as the series continued and the mystery only deepened she only became more and more fascinating.

By the end, when she revealed herself to be a witch by the name of Agatha Harkness I just really, really enjoyed the character. I’m so relieved that they decided not to kill her off because I want to see her again in the future.

‘Avengers: Endgame’: A Hero’s Redemption Part 4

Nebula has had one of the most complex stories in the MCU. She began as your common villain, killing good guys and fighting the heroes. The good streak that came equipped with Gamora was seemingly nonexistent in Nebula but Marvel had a plan for her. Instead of killing her off, as one might expect, she was allowed to survive another day. It was in Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 2 where her heroic side finally started to blossom, leading to what would be a very redemptive story in Avengers: Endgame.

Having Fun for the First Time

You’re probably looking at this picture and saying to yourself, “What? Is that Nebula smiling?” Yes…it is. At the beginning of Endgame while Tony Stark and Nebula are stranded aboard Star-Lord’s ship they play a game. For nearly all of Nebula’s life, she has been trained to be a killing machine. The competition between her and her sister Gamora was never pleasant. They were always at each other’s throats, each daughter trying to prove dominion over the other, and as Nebula constantly lost their sparring matches Thanos would replace another part of her with something to augment her abilities.

Nebula didn’t know what fun was until this very moment with Tony Stark. For a second, she almost seems like a normal human being whose every instinct hasn’t been crafted to kill. It’s actually a really touching moment and the first step of her redemption story.

Throwback Friday: The Five Heroes I Would Be Saddest to See Perish in ‘Avengers: Endgame’

For this week’s Throwback Friday I’m looking back at a post that I write about Avengers: Endgame a few days before it came out. Enjoy!

5. Nebula

From the first time I saw Nebula, I knew I liked her character but after she joined the good guys in Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 2 I really began to enjoy her character. Now, with her story being even more compelling, for her to die now would be really unfortunate. Especially knowing that there’s no chance she’s getting resurrected. Oh, I hope she doesn’t die. (Thank goodness she didn’t.)

The 5 Reasons Why ‘Guardians of the Galaxy: Vol 3’ Is the Future Marvel Movie I’m Most Excited to See

Avengers: Endgame wasn’t just a phenomenal conclusion to an amazing eleven years of storytelling. It was also the thrilling beginning of what will probably be eleven more years of breathtaking awesomeness. Yes we have had to say goodbye to some fan favorites like Iron Man, Captain America/Steve Rogers, Black Widow, etc. but there are some new heroes on the horizon that will surely make us look at this era in the way we look at The Avengers; it’s a great movie but gosh it can be boring…and old.

Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 3 is one of the films we can look forward to seeing in the next couple of years or so and it’s destined to be a smash hit. With James Gunn returning to guide the movie to where it needs to be I have no doubt in my mind that it has the potential to be one of the best Marvel movies ever made. But what is it that has me so pumped to see the wacky Guardians for the third film? Well, that’s what I’m here to share with you. Enjoy! Throwback Friday: Should There Be An All-Female Avengers Movie and Who Should Be In It?

Over the years there has been a fascinating increase of female superheroes in the MCU. There has been such a rise of awesome heroines in this franchise in fact that Tessa Thompson, who plays the role of Valkyrie in Thor: Ragnarok, said that there should be an all-female Avengers movie. A group of actresses even went as far as to approach the top people in Marvel about the idea. And now, after that incredible scene in Avengers: Endgame featuring every (alive) heroine the thought of an Avengers movie featuring only women doesn’t seem so far-fetched after all. So, should there be an Avengers movie that highlights our favorite heroic heroines? Um…yeah!

We’ve seen progress in how women are portrayed in superhero movies. Wonder Woman got her first solo film in 2017 which featured not only the first female superhero to get her own movie but it had a female director at the helm as well. It ended up making just a little north of $800 million, proving that women could drive people to the movie theaters. Ant-Man and the Wasp wouldn’t collect as much money as Wonder Woman but it garnered highly positive reviews, many citing Wasp as a fantastic co-lead to Paul Rudd’s humorous Ant-Man. And Captain Marvel proved that Wonder Woman‘s success wasn’t a fluke as it made over a billion dollars at the box-office this spring.

Why shouldn’t Marvel take things to the next level by introducing a movie featuring a group of heroes that consists of only women. We saw what that could look like in Avengers: Endgame and it was legitimately awesome. But who should be a part of this heroic team? Well, that’s what I’m here to share with you. Enjoy!
