The Ten Coolest Things From ‘Solo: A Star Wars Story’

One of my favorite things about watching a new Star Wars movie is seeing all of the new aliens, locations, trinkets, etc. and Solo was packed to the rim with eye catching characters, brand new aliens, and yes, more stormtroopers. I love it! So today I’m going to share with you all of the incredible new creations that Solo brought to the Star Wars universe that I happened to love the most. Enjoy!

10: Corellian Hounds

Corellian hounds

Um…it’s official. Star Wars dogs are not cute. *shudder* These hounds were simply horrifying to look at…but they were so cool at the same time. Only in Star Wars would you see an alien hound as gross and magnificent as this and that’s why I love this franchise so much.

9. Mudtroopers

With every new Star Wars movie comes a new rendition of the iconic stormtrooper and I am just impressed. How do they keep coming up with ideas for brand new troopers? I have no idea. But, Solo continued that tradition and I’m so happy about it. These Mudtroopers look so cool with their massive goggles and their mucky brown armor perfect for the conditions of the muddy planet, Mimban. Um…did I mention that I love Star Wars? 🙂

8. The Lodge

The Lodge

New Star Wars movies also mean new locations and once again Solo did not disappoint as it took us to worlds unlike anything we had seen before. The Lodge, a hangout in the location of Fort Ypso, is where Han first meets Lando and from the looks of this picture you wouldn’t even recognize it from the actual movie. In the film aliens and humanoids crowded the interior of The Lodge to the point of not allowing the viewer to really see everything sitting on the walls and so forth, at least not on the first viewing. In this picture, however, you can see the homey charm of this tavern and I’m glad to see that Star Wars still continues to surprise me with new places that haven’t ever been seen in the franchise before.

My Ten Favorite Planets in ‘Star Wars’: The Updated Version

One of my favorite aspects of Star Wars are the locations. Whenever there’s a new planet I’m always excited to see what it’ll look like, such as the new planets in The Last Jedi, Crait and Cantonica. Throughout the Star Wars films, there have been many, many planets that I have found are absolutely incredible. So, on that note, here are my favorite planets.

10. Crait

Crait

Crait is one of the most fascinating new worlds with its salty white exterior, the deep red interior, and the vast cliffs that hold the rebel base. It’s a very interesting planet and it’s undoubtedly one of the most original planets I’ve seen in quite a while.

10. Mustafar

Mustafar is one of the most original locations in Star Wars. The fact that it’s a moon that consists of only lava and volcanic rock makes this, undoubtedly, one of the coolest planets in Star Wars. And thanks to Rogue One, we now know that Darth Vader built his castle on the fiery world. That is a very awesome fact.

My Review of Star Wars: The Visual Encyclopedia

Ever since the Star Wars: The Visual Encyclopedia came out earlier this year I have been so excited to finally own it. And now that I have it I can honestly say that is one of the coolest books I have ever owned. This encyclopedia is absolutely packed with content. I mean filled to the rim, from the front to the back.

There is a huge section on the planets in the universe.

Look at all of these planets!

And I ended up finding out some incredible facts. Like the planet Bespin, for example. Ever since I first saw the Cloud City and all of those beautiful clouds I used to imagine an entire world beneath the city. I had no idea that the planet entirely consisted of gas. That is mind-blowing and now I see Bespin in a whole different light.

A New Star Wars Location: Canto Bight

One thing that I love to see in the Star Wars films are new, unique locations. The Force Awakens had Takodana, a beautiful, original planet filled with forests, lakes, and mountains. Rogue One had Eadu, the rain-soaked planet, Wobani, an Imperial Labor Camo located upon a dreary, snowy landscape, and finally Scarif, the gorgeous tropical planet home to one of the Imperials’ most secretive bases. These were incredible new locations that were different than any other planets I’ve seen in the other movies and they were simply magnificent.

Now The Last Jedi is introducing at least three new locations full of mystery and history that I can’t wait to see unfold on the big screen. Canto Bight, however, is the one I’m most excited to see.

What I Think About These New Additions To The Last Jedi

So, Force Friday has come and gone and now it seems like Lucasfilm is pushing full throttle into the advertising stage. Yay! And with more advertising comes more insight into the movie at hand. And I just so happened to go to starwars.com and saw that some new additions have been added to the databank. So with no further delay let me talk about them.
