Before Solo, it seemed that there would be many more Star Wars standalone films to get excited for but with the dismal failure of Solo‘s box-office run Disney CEO Bob Iger has announced that production for Star Wars movies in the future was going to slow down after Episode IX. When that happened all of the incredible ideas that could’ve been converted into Star Wars films was brought to an immediate halt.
The much-wanted Obi-Wan standalone film, the Boba Fett movie, the potential Solo sequels, these were films that were talked about but probably won’t ever to come to fruition. But, let’s say, Star Wars stories do become popular again and LucasFilm starts to crank them out once every couple of years or so like they have been doing. Well, I think it would be really fascinating to see a story focusing on Palpatine.

The fantastic thing about these Star Wars standalone films are the gaps that they are filling in the Star Wars universe. Rogue One introduced us to the group of rebels who stole the Death Star plans and perfectly ended the movie by showing Darth Vader trying to obtain those plans, the rebels just barely managing to escape, and a brief cameo of Princess Leia aboard the Tantative IV smiling with hope and determination. And all of that perfectly led into A New Hope in one of the most flawless ways I could’ve never imagined.
So, Solo decided to take people’s expectations up a notch by introducing….
MAJOR SPOILER ALERT!!! This is the biggest spoiler of the movie and so I highly advise you to stop reading now if you haven’t seen Solo yet. Thank you and enjoy the rest of the post.

Ever since I’ve watched The Force Awakens I have been constantly struck by the incredible similarities between Anakin Skywalker and his grandson, Ben Solo. There have been so many parallels between the two characters and here are some of the most striking examples.
1. Their Features
So here’s Anakin with his scar, that long hair and dark brown robes.
And then you have Kylo Ren who looks nearly identical in everything but his face. His hair is long and curled like his grandfather’s, he bears a scar eerily similar to that of Anakin’s, and he wears dark robes like he did.
2. They Both Despise Masters
Anakin didn’t entirely trust the tutelage of his master, Obi-Wan Kenobi, or that of the Jedi Council and that led him to eventually joining Emperor Palpatine as the Sith Lord promised him power and everything that he desired.
And Kylo Ren didn’t fully trust Luke Skywalker either, that’s why when he saw his uncle over him with a drawn lightsaber he was so quick to turn against him and join Snoke. He even turned against his master Snoke. Both of them had issues with masters and both of them joined the dark side.
