QI’RA: Chapter Fifty

Qi’ra’s Return

Captain Peer was in a meeting with Moff Arnim, several other senators surrounding them as they prepared to move ahead with claiming the Noad System. When the moff asked him where Qi’ra was he told her of the dark times that had befallen the Crimson Dawn leader and her sudden need to depart the planet. That had been two days ago.

She had told him she would return but Captain Peer wasn’t sure how much he could trust her word. It’s why they had continued the meeting without her in case she would, in fact, never return. Continue reading QI’RA: Chapter Fifty

QI’RA: Chapter Forty-Nine

An Imminent Fate

Qi’ra looked up and saw a shaft of red light pouring from a hole in the ceiling. She had fallen ten feet into a dark cave whose walls were lined with the brambled tree’s roots that snaked toward the surface. In the darkness, she could hear the distinct squeak of bats. Her heart hammered in response.

There was the hum of a lightsaber as Maul appeared at the edge of the hole, his form a shadow against the maroon backdrop of the nighttime sky. And then he jumped into the cave before her, his blood-red lightsaber bathing the darkness in a haunting glow. Continue reading QI’RA: Chapter Forty-Nine

QI’RA: Chapter Forty-Eight

Qi’ra’s Defiance

Qi’ra piloted her stealthy craft, Night Shade, toward Dathomir with only one mission in mind; killing Maul. He, like Dryden Vos, thought he controlled her. That she would bend to his every will if he so much as blinked. Well, Dryden had been wrong and look what happened to him. Maul was next in line to meet her wrath.

Dipping beneath the hemisphere of the planet it almost seemed like yesterday when she came here the first time aboard First Light. At the time, she had been seized with fear and unsureness. Now, her bones quaked with anger and ferocity. Continue reading QI’RA: Chapter Forty-Eight

QI’RA: Chapter Forty-Seven

A Tremor in the Force

Maul was standing on the edge of a cliff. His form was hunched as his leg bled profusely. In his right hand, he clutched his double-bladed lightsaber tightly, awaiting his opponent’s next attack. His breaths were ragged as he saw her approaching; a woman cloaked in darkness with a strange sword in her hand coated with his own blood.

This woman emanated anger. It floated around her in a red mist, enveloping her in its embrace. Continue reading QI’RA: Chapter Forty-Seven

QI’RA: Chapter Forty-Six

Nienye’s Sentence

Sitting in her room aboard Dryden Vos’s yacht, First Light, Qi’ra couldn’t believe T-38 was dead. She had taken the cyborg for granted and now that her voice was missing, that her presence was no longer felt aboard this yacht that she called home, she now realized how much he had grown to need T-38’s companionship.

Now, without her, there was a deep void. A void that Nienye had created. She couldn’t believe it. She trusted Nienye. She even had admitted to herself that she was in love with him. Only for him to stab her in the back and T-38 would end up becoming the consequence of this deception. Continue reading QI’RA: Chapter Forty-Six

QI’RA: Chapter Forty-Five

In Captivity

Nienye woke with a start. Enclosing him were dark walls and his ears were filled with the sound of a ship’s motor. His head pounded and it felt like his face was swollen. As he tried to reach up and touch his face he soon learned that chains were wrapped around his wrists, preventing him from moving his wrists but a few inches in every direction.

He struggled against the chains for nearly a minute until he realized that his struggling was futile. He rested back against the cold wall, closing his eyes and taking a deep breath. And then he heard footsteps. Continue reading QI’RA: Chapter Forty-Five
