Every week I watch the latest episode of the latest Marvel or Star Wars Disney+ series at 3am but unfortunately yesterday, well, I fell asleep. I fell asleep hard. So I didn’t get around to a second viewing until today but when I did I liked what I watched.
I’m going to first announce that yes, this was my favorite episode so far. Whereas Chapter 2 was better but still had some personal kinks to iron out I found this particular episode delightful on so many levels.
The usage of droids in the episode was hilarious, the action finally felt fun to look at, and heck yeah, Boba’s ship came to play.
It felt like this episode made Boba Fett awesome again. There were moments when I was cheering with excitement and others when I was simply appreciating what I was seeing.
Last week’s episode had me really peeved and this week’s episode had me annoyed in some ways too but still…it did its thing. Was I expecting this show to be the flashback express? No, I wasn’t, but that’s what it’s become. Is this a good thing? Yes and no.
On one hand, it’s great because we get to spend more time with the Tusken Raiders who have undoubtedly stolen the show. I may not know the name of the female Raider but she has become one of my favorite female characters in the entire franchise. Her presence is just so awesome and if anything happens to her I’m going to be very upset.
And then on the other hand, the flashbacks are distracting as heck!
Two twin Hutts just showed up and I think we just saw Tarful! I want to get back to that. But no. Instead, we have to become aware of why Boba showed up in The Mandalorian looking all rad with a cool outfit and stick that he knew how to use very well. Ugh.
And is it just me or does there seem like there’s something awfully cheap about this show? I may have said this last week but it’s becoming more apparent with each episode.
Like the two humans in the bar. Their clothes looked…okay but they felt like two cosplayers instead of actual Star Wars characters. And that’s ultimately been the problem. The acting (and costumes) has felt so stunted that it just sucks me out of the story sometimes.
Oh, and we went to the Twi’lek bar last week. Did we really have to go back there so we could see the pretty Twi’leks again? It just felt repetitive and it makes the city feel small.
All in all, I’m still not even close to being a fan of this show but at least it was better than last week.
I thank you for reading and I hope you have a great day.
I don’t know what I was expecting but I wasn’t expecting to be bored. Unfortunately, I was.
Minor spoilers ahead!
The opening minutes of the episode were fantastic. Seeing a flash of Kamino got me giddy, the visualization of Boba Fett’s escape from the Sarlacc Pit was disgusting and absolutely everything I’ve ever wanted, and of course, I love seeing the Tusken Raiders. That, however, was the best part of the show for me. The rest was a snooze fest for me.
The trailer for The Book of Boba Fett came out yesterday and it was definitely surprising. I am not going to day the trailer blew my mind because it didn’t. In fact, if I’m being honest, it was kind of boring. But I am confident that the spin-off will be fun to watch for the duration of v is nine episodes. However, there was one thing I noticed that bothered me and I’m here to share my reservations with you.
The trailer’s main goal was to remind us that Boba is, in fact, the new boss of Tatooine and that he will apparently be a fair/ benevolent ruler but that’s where the problem of this trailer lies.
Well, it’s almost time for the next chapter in live-action Star Wars awesomeness in the form of The Book of Boba Fett, a spinoff featuring yours truly, Boba Fett.
To think, after so many years of fans clamoring for Boba Fett to get his own standalone film, here we are, on the brink of a chance to see this ultra-cool bounty hunter in all of his glory. Here’s the poster.
Yeah, it’s nothing special but it does set a tone; this is Boba’s story and it’s going to be daaark. I like it.
Oh, and we have an official release date too: December 29. Turns out this show’s premiere is arriving on the same day as Hawkeye‘s season finale so…that’s going to be one heck of a Wednesday!
Considering that this poster dropped yesterday can we assume we’ll be getting a trailer soon? 👀
Oh, I hope so.
I thank you for reading and I hope you have a spectacular day.
