For the last eight weeks, I have followed Star Wars: Resistance diligently. I have paid close attention to the character’s storylines, I have enjoyed a few of the series episodes immensely, and I have become invested in the cartoon. And yet, with every week, I find myself on an emotional rollercoaster…and I don’t mean that in a good way.
The first hour-long episode; The Recruit, was okay as it introduced all of the main characters, featured Poe Dameron for a brief inclusion as a nostalgic stamp of approval for the series, and set up the possibilities of the hopefully entertaining future.
Then the series lulled for a couple of weeks with episodes that were less than interesting. The Triple Dark was so boring I don’t remember its plot and Fuel for the Fire was only slightly entertaining enough to keep me invested in the series as a whole.

Star Wars: Resistance through its first few episodes was an underwhelming experience. The episodes’ situations were boring, uninteresting and it didn’t seem like this show was going to amount to much. But then with last week’s episode, ‘The High Tower’, everything seemed to change. The First Order finally started to come into the picture and my interest level for the show went up! And it seems that with this latest episode, ‘The Children from Tehar’, the momentum isn’t stopping.
In this episode, Kaxuda Xiono is trying to find a pair of runaway children to collect their 20,000 credit bounty but it’s not long before things become more complicated than it first seems. This episode has the right amount of comedy, it’s got some shocking moments, and it provides a tiny bit of suspense that makes the episode that much better.
Honestly, this show is getting more interesting by the week. I truly feel that this cartoon is leading to something very important and it’s only a matter of time before we figure out what that might be. *clapping my hands* Ooh, I’m so excited.
I’ll give this episode 88 out of a 100 and 3.8 out of 5 stars. I happened to like last week’s episode a tad bit more but this was definitely worth the wait. I absolutely can’t wait to see what happens next week! 🙂
I thank you for reading and I hope you have a fabulous day. May the Force be with you.
The filming for Episode IX is underway and that means leaks and rumors are bound to seep through the cracks. Well, there’s a new rumor going around that has fans divided again over whether they should be excited or worried that J.J Abrams is taking us backward instead of forward.
Before I tell you what the rumor is let me provide you a disclaimer moving forward because this could potentially be a MASSIVE SPOILER for Episode IX. Of course, all rumors have to be taken with a grain of salt but still, we won’t know if it’s false until we watch the movie.
So now that you’ve read the disclaimer this is the leak.

Star Wars: Resistance began with a few episodes that were good but weren’t great and I couldn’t help but feel a bit disappointed. So, last night I watched the latest episode but as you can suspect I wasn’t that interested. I figured it was going to be like all of the other episodes I had seen; semi-boring. It wasn’t.
With it being the fifth episode in the series so far The High Tower shines in ways that are very promising for the future. We’re finally getting a bit of First Order action in this latest episode and Kazuda Xiono delights as he takes us, the viewer, on a wild 22-minute adventure that is jam-packed with thrills and laughs to the end. The Last Jedi was about as unconventional a Star Wars movie as you can get. Yes, it had lightsabers and Jedi, space battles and conversations of the Force, but Rian Johnson changed a lot about the way we view these movies. He took a more ethical approach to the entire story of Star Wars which led to a complex but satisfying sequel rather than just creating a fun action movie. One of those striking elements of the movie that he made his own happened to be the very first scene in The Last Jedi; the space battle.
Space battles have always been a huge staple of Star Wars. In fact, the first scene ever to appear in a Star Wars film involved a space battle! That’s how important they are. Every Star Wars movie that there has been has had at least one space battle in it and The Last Jedi was thankfully not an exception…but Rian Johnson made sure to put his own spin on it.

Now that The Last Jedi is firmly in my rearview mirror my attention should, of course, reside solely on the upcoming young Solo movie but my heart can’t stop thinking about Episode IX and it looks like I’m not the only one because rumors for the movie’s various plotlines have begun to surface and I’m here to share with you all of the juicy details. And just to let you know, these rumors are reportedly from Colin Trevorrow’s script (the director who was fired) so it isn’t clear if any of his ideas will actually make it into the final product. It’s still interesting to read though. 🙂
Reader Discretion Advised! These rumors may prove to be major spoilers in Episode IX and so if you’d rather stay in the blue I advise to discontinue reading this NOW. I thank you for heeding my warning and I hope you enjoy!

Five Years Have Passed
Apparently, Episode IX will follow ‘Revenge of the Sith’ and ‘Return of the Jedi’ by jumping ahead by a fairly significant period of time (five years in this case). Kylo Ren’s rule over The First Order is now viewed as being “benevolent” by the majority of the Galaxy and not only is the Resistance no longer being rooted for by regular folk but there are even those within it wondering why they’re still fighting.
Now this sounds super exciting and different than what we’ve seen in the past. The Empire was always looked at as a terrible blight on the galaxy and Snoke’s First Order was viewed the same way but to think that Kylo Ren has turned the tyrannical organization into a government that is loved by many through the galaxy sounds awesome!

Kylo Ren is my favorite character in this current Star Wars trilogy because he’s such an intriguingly complex character. In The Force Awakens he was a confused assassin who struggled between the pull of the light and the darkness. After killing Han Solo he supposedly cemented his stance as a pupil of the darkness but the terrible sacrifice only weakened him instead.
In The Last Jedi Rian Johnson humanized the “monster” that he was as he revealed the backstory to how Ben Solo became Kylo Ren. He turned the First Order commander into a victim rather than a crazed psychopath who just wanted to kill everything he once knew and loved. Kylo Ren is placed in a different light as he experiences this strange bond between him and Rey and we see him as a human being who just wanted some love and companionship for crying out loud. He killed Snoke for the opportunity to make a new galactic order with Rey but of course she didn’t go along with his plan and Kylo Ren became his same old bitter, angry self again.
Long story short, he had a showdown with Luke, he lost the confrontation miserably, missed his chance to wipe out the last of the Resistance due to the mirage Luke distraction, and vowed to destroy Rey. So when we see the young Ren again what will he be up to? He’s now the Supreme Leader but he can prove to be a powerful leader or will his anger issues get in the way and ultimately become his downfall? These are some of the topics that I will discuss as I theorize what should happen next for Kylo Ren. Enjoy!
