I Watched Every ‘Lord of the Rings’ Movie In IMAX!

Ever since I first started watching movies in IMAX I’ve been wanting to see what I feel is the greatest movie trilogy in this format. This February that dream finally came true; The Lord of the Rings was coming back to theaters in IMAX.

Over the course of four weeks, we watched each movie and I was absolutely blown away by each movie but last night, The Return of the King left me stunned, crying, and overwhelmed.

I knew the epic finale would be just that, epic, but I still didn’t quite realize just how incredible it would actually be. Of course, I personally prefer the extended edition because it fills in so many gaps in the movie but that didn’t matter. The battle sequences were out of this world, the Ride of Rohirrim scene is still one of the best in movie history, and the Olyphants. Just…wow!!!!

Peter Jackson may not make great movies anymore but he did his work. This trilogy, made in the 2000s’, still looks better than pretty much every movie since then. The CGI still holds up y’all!

I’m just…I can’t even begin to fully express how much I loved watching these movies in IMAX but I can say this…these truly are the greatest movies ever made because honestly, it almost seems magical itself that these films turned out as great as they did.

I thank you for reading and I hope you have a great day.

I Have Now Seen ‘The Two Towers’ In IMAX!

Last week I watched The Lord of the Rings: The Fellowship of the Ring for the first time in IMAX and it’s safe to say I was blown away. Considering that it’s my personal favorite film in the trilogy I was floored by just how perfect the movie was…again.

This week my family and I got the chance to see the second film in the trilogy and I was just as surprised.

The Two Towers is my least favorite film in the trilogy but it is also the movie that has the Helm’s Deep battle, one of the greatest cinematic battles of all time!!! I found myself on several occasions sitting in the movie theater wincing from the sheer noise of certain moments, like Treebeard’s epic roar when he discovers that so many of his fellow Ents had been destroyed. Woo, that part was loud.

All in all, the middle movie sets up what is going to be an epic finale in The Return of the King and I can’t wait to participate on that rollercoaster of epicness next week.

I thank you for reading and I hope you have a great day.

On To the Next One!

Last Monday I shared my excitement getting to see The Lord of the Rings: The Fellowship of the Ring in IMAX. Well, expectedly, my family and I were super excited to see the next one so today we’re watching The Two Towers in IMAX. Oh my goodness, I am so excited!!!! Can’t wait to see the epic Helm’s Deep battle in IMAX!

I thank you for reading and I hope you have a tremendous day.

‘The Lord of the Rings’ Is the Best Movie Ever Made!

It’s official. After watching The Lord of the Rings: The Fellowship of the Ring last night in IMAX there is no longer any doubt. This movie is the best ever made and nothing comes close.

I’ve seen incredible movies like Interstellar, Inception, Gladiator, Avengers: Infinity War, and so many more, but there’s nothing, I mean absolutely nothing as incredible as the trilogy that shaped my childhood and is still wowing me to this day.

I don’t know how Peter Jackson managed to take a book as fantastically epic and magical as The Lord of the Rings and adapted it into three films that are beyond the word exceptional. Every detail in these movies are considered, from the clothes to the script to the world that surrounds this adventure and the characters that encompass it. Watching The Fellowship of the Ring yesterday in IMAX was one of the greatest things I have ever been lucky enough to experience.

I’ve watched these movies over and over again and yet they still never seem to get old and this film in IMAX was like a completely different movie.

Now, in terms of the 4K, I didn’t really see that much of a difference. The color saturation was a bit altered and the intense blue of Frodo’s eyes was like, “Whoa!” but besides that, there wasn’t that much of a world-changing difference. But the sound! Oh my lord of the rings, the sound was insane!!!!

I knew I was in for a treat as soon as the opening sequence with Sauron played out. The noise, the sheer epicness of that battle, Sauron’s defeat, it was just jaw-dropping.

If I was to tell you every single section of this movie that blew my mind in detail I a would be writing the largest post I’ve ever written but I’ll leave it at this. It was an experience I will never forget and yeah, my family and I are determined to see the next two movies because it was that fantastic!

Honestly, if there is ever a movie better than The Lord of the Rings it’s going to have to be truly astounding in every sense of the word.

Okay, I’m rambling. I thank you for reading and I hope you have a lovely day.

I’m Watching ‘The Lord of the Rings’ In IMAX Tomorrow!

Yes. You read that title right. It’s The Lord of the Rings’ 20th anniversary this year and AMC is celebrating this fact with first time showings of the movies in freaking IMAX. I’ve been waiting like a predator ready to pounce for the announcement of these fantastic movies being brought back to the big screen and now that it’s happening we’re going to go see it!

I couldn’t possibly be more excited right now. I have watched The Fellowship of the Ring (and this is no exaggeration) over 300 times in my life and yet it still never seems to get old. The magic of this movie is insane and now that I get the chance to experience what is pretty much my favorite movie of all time on the big screen…in IMAX is like something out of a dream come true.

If you’re interested in seeing The Lord of the Rings in IMAX too the first one is playing this week I think until Friday and then the next two have showtimes starting this Friday. *squeal* Gosh, I can’t to wait to see the Balrog sequence in IMAX. Woo!

I thank you for reading and I hope you have a fantastic day.

Can We Get ‘The Lord of the Rings’ Back in Theaters Please?

How are the movie theaters striving to stay open during COVID? They’re playing old classics that are driving people to the theaters and that’s an exciting thought. Last week I saw The Empire Strikes Back for the first time in theaters and it was an experience I’ll never forget. Yeah, I’ve seen the movie literally a hundred (or more) times but it was a whole other beast on the big screen with the explosions and engines of the ships rumbling around me.

Since that day, I’ve been super excited to see more of my favorite films in my local theater and one such film that I really want to see on the big screen for the first time is The Return of the King.

I was five when it was theaters in 2003 and, well, suffice it to say I wasn’t old enough to go see it. But that doesn’t mean I haven’t watched it plenty of times at home imagining what it was like to see The Ride of the Rohirrim scene on the big screen.

With The Lord of the Rings Trilogy now being released on a 4k format it’s only a matter of time before these films are re-released in theaters during an anniversary or something like that and when that happens, if that happens, I’ll be a happy lady.

I thank you for reading and I hope you have a wonderful day.
