The Five Saddest Deaths in ‘Avengers: Infinity War’

Avengers: Infinity War was the first Marvel movie to add real stakes for the heroes and finally provide us some shocking moments that made the wait for this film totally worth it and with so many of our favorite heroes dying I’m here to share with you which deaths struck my heartstrings the most. Enjoy!

5. Doctor Strange

Doctor Strange was so cool in this movie. In fact, he was perfect for the film and so when Thanos snapped his fingers and half of all life in the galaxy came to a startling end I was devastated to see Doctor Strange become one of that massive number. To think that we would have to watch Avengers 4 unfold without him, at least for a time was a real heartbreaker for me. I can’t wait until he’s revived so I can enjoy him again.

Scarlet Witch and Vision: An Odd Couple

Okay, I have been debating this with myself since Age of Ultron but I haven’t been able to figure it out until now, thanks to Infinity War, and that’s the realization that Vision is in fact a SUPER-intelligent robot. For a while now Vision has entirely eluded me as to what I could legitimately call him. Was he a human with an incredibly intuitive brain? Was he simply a robot with the extreme likeness, personality, and feelings of a human? Or did I have to think of him as simply a Mind Stone entity, not exactly human, not exactly a robot, just a being with infinite power? Well, Infinity War has pretty much cleared up this conundrum for me and now that this question of mine has been resolved I have to admit, I’m a tad bit grossed out about it.

Bruce Banner said that Vision is basically a mega-mix of Tony Stark, Jarvis, Banner, Ultron, and the Mind Stone all wrapped into a handsome Paul Bettany gift box. That’s a little…weird. So basically Scarlet Witch is in love with the ultimate robot? Ooookay. That’s definitely a little strange.

Vision, from what I’ve learned of his involvement in the comic books, was an alien superhero and so the relationship between him and Scarlet Witch was so totally palpable. This version of the well-known Marvel romance is a bit tweaked considering that Vision is now a robot rather than a living being. I mean, does Vision even breathe? He’s a robot so does he have to?

Here Are the Ways the Dead Heroes in ‘Avengers: Infinity War’ Can Return in ‘Avengers 4’

As I’m sure you all know by now (if you don’t know then discontinue reading this NOW because there are MAJOR spoilers ahead) a lot of people died in Avengers: Infinity War. I mean, a LOT! So many in fact that it’s kind of obvious that they’ll be brought back in the next Avengers film but here’s the question: How can they be brought back from the dead to return to fight Thanos in a last battle worthy of this Avengers finale? Well, that’s what I’m here to theorize and I hope you enjoy. 🙂

Vision

Vision is the only Avenger who died twice in Infinity War but he just might be the luckiest of the deceased bunch and this is why. When he was killed the first time Scarlet Witch destroyed the Mind Stone and in the process he literally exploded into a million tiny particles but Thanos turned back the time and still plucked the stone from his head anyway. But when the stone was removed from his head he became a lifeless grey husk of what Vision once was and while that was of course horrifying there’s still hope for Vision coming back and this is how.

Because he’s basically a robot who feeds off of the Mind Stone for life if Shuri (granted if she’s still alive and didn’t evaporate) could somehow find a new energy source powerful enough to sustain him he could be resurrected and we would have Vision alive once again, except without the Mind Stone this time around. Of course he wouldn’t be as powerful as when he had the Infinity Stone but I’m sure his anger for the loss of Scarlet Witch and the devastating annihilation of the galaxy would spur him on to become an even mightier hero than he has ever been. Sounds awesome to me. 🙂

Was Gamora, Scarlet Witch, and Vision Treated Fairly In The MCU?

I’ve had nearly a week to digest all of the fascinating and monumental storylines presented in Avengers: Infinity War and what surprised me the most was the level of importance Gamora, Scarlet Witch, and Vision presented to the movie which I was sooo happy about. Finally these three characters that have always been some of the strongest heroes in their various movies were getting some recognition and some real character development…and then they all died. I couldn’t believe it. Gamora for example, was finally getting some well deserved attention and then they killed her off! What’s up with that?! So today, I’m going to look at these three characters and determine if their stories were utilized fairly or unfortunately wasted in the MCU? Enjoy!

Gamora

Throughout her participation in the MCU Gamora has never truly shined. She’s supposedly the most dangerous woman in the galaxy but did we ever get a feel of that in the Guardians of the Galaxy films? Um, no. In the first Guardians movie she was presented as this awesome assassin who could handle herself easily in a fight but she was utilized into the movie as more of a love interest for Peter rather than an asset to the team. Of course we did get to see her in action several times but I was waiting for some story revolving around her to arrive in the sequel and that didn’t happen in the slightest. They took her and diluted her presence in the MCU so much that soon I began to think of her as Peter’s girlfriend and “the most dangerous woman in the galaxy” was a title I didn’t even know she had.

Now we come to Infinity War where we finally get to see her rule the narrative and I was totally into it. Gamora was the important one this time around and Star-Lord was playing the co-star. I couldn’t be happier. And then she was brutally killed out of the movie as Thanos sacrificed her for the Soul Stone. I couldn’t believe it. She finally gets a compelling storyline and then was erased out of the movie as quickly as she had come into it. I feel that the MCU’s treatment of Gamora was unfair because she never was given the chance to shine and to grow beyond just her relationship with Peter. Even in Infinity War she was used as a tool to further Thanos’s story rather than it being a stepping stone to her own betterment in future movies. I don’t know why the writers couldn’t figure her out but I definitely believe she was a waste of a chance for something truly awesome.

The Evolution of Vision

I still remember my immense surprise when Vision appeared in Avengers: Age of Ultron. I had seen the commercials, I had seen the trailers, and they hadn’t hinted at Vision’s involvement in the slightest so imagine my surprise when this new hero who’s so powerful he could pick up Thor’s hammer showed up. My jaw dropped! I don’t know anything about the comic books so Vision was a brand new character for me and it was truly one of the greatest surprises in the MCU. Since then, however, he hasn’t exactly diminished in awesomeness but he hasn’t been fully explored yet, which is kind of a shame considering how cool of a character he is. And now with the events of Avengers: Infinity War quickly approaching it seems like his chances of getting a major part in this story is dwindling fast. So, before the movie premieres next Friday, let’s look at his evolution through the years. Enjoy!

Avengers: Age of Ultron (2015)

Like I said before, when Vision came to life in Age of Ultron it was definitely an exciting moment for me because it was such an awesome surprise. First of all, it was cool seeing Tony Stark’s AI pal, Jarvis, come to life in this AI human robot thingy. Secondly, he had an Infinity Stone in his forehead! Wow. And then he was just ridiculously cool. Can you imagine how Vision felt though?

Here he is, this strange red skinned Infinity Stone bearing being who can make the illusion of clothing at will and can process everything in his brain like a computer and yet he’s still slightly humanoid at the same time. He has a heart (I think) and he has feelings just like a human and yet he’s SO different at the same time. When he joins the Avengers his immediate mission is to stop Ultron and that must’ve been kind of hard for him. I mean, if you really think about, Ultron was kind of his dad and so of course he wouldn’t want to kill him but he had to do what he had to do.

At the end of the movie he was inducted into the Avengers and he would soon discover that more obstacles would lie ahead.

Captain America: Civil War (2016)

In Civil War Vision didn’t have a lot of character development because he’s kind of difficult. He’s half robot/half human, he’s extremely powerful, so powerful in fact that if he really wanted to he could vaporize everybody to dust, and so to make him seem a little normal along with the other Avengers the Russo Brothers made Vision start to receive feelings for his fellow Avenger, Scarlet Witch, which was destined considering they had a romantic relationship in the comic books.

For Vision he could find the humanity within himself through his relationship with Wanda. With him beginning to care for her he was starting to understand what it meant to be a human and that was the greatest development that could happen for his character.

Now he’s returning in Avengers: Infinity War with a new look; the Paul Bettany edition, and I don’t what’s going to happen to him (even though it’s kind of obvious considering the glowing spot a.k.a the Mind Stone on his forehead) but I hope he finally gets a compelling story this time around. We’ll see. I have a bit of advice for him though. He better let Wanda know that he loves her before he’s gone for good because his time is definitely numbered.

I thank you for reading and I hope you have a fabulous day.
