Zorii or Jannah: Who’s Your Favorite?

The Rise of Skywalker introduced two new characters to the franchise, a pair of awesome female characters who helped bring extra depth to Poe Dameron and Finn’s storylines in the movie.

On one hand, you have Zorii Bliss, a fancily-clad smuggler wielding two blasters who have a checkered yet clearly romantic past with flawed yet brave Resistance Commander, Poe Dameron. Her only role in the movie is to add a little spice to Poe’s otherwise bland resume (get it, because he was a spice runner) but she still ends up managing to steal the show with her blunt awesomeness. Zorii Bliss: A Day in Kijimi: Chapter Thirteen

What had happened to the day? Like a thick blanket of tension, nighttime had crept upon Kijimi swiftly, leaving Zorii feeling a bit anxious as she climbed out of the valley toward Kijimi City where, to her great surprise, Gibble and a few other Spice Runners were waiting for her.

Their bodies were slumped as if they had been through a war. Gibble’s stance was rigid and when he saw her he raised a hand in clear relief. A course of relief ran through her as well. They had both lost friends today but there was still hope for them after all. Hope that maybe all of this stress of the day would end in a sense of joy.

When she reached them she said, “Let’s find Babu.”

Gibble placed a hand on her shoulder. “We’ve got other things to worry about.”

She stopped. Not again. Not more trouble!

“What trouble?”

“Dameron…he’s back.”

Zorii Bliss: A Day in Kijimi: Chapter Twelve

Zorii Bliss thought she was going to die. As troopers shot at her from behind and TIE Fighters peppered the valley and approached the base with clear intent to attack there was only one thing she could do. She ran forward, blasting the glass window and shattering it with each shot, before jumping right out of the base just as green laser fire filled the room that she had just been in.

She fell ten feet before landing on the craggy snow-covered rocks. She groaned as a flare of pain coursed through her legs but she couldn’t stop. The TIEs were going to end her if they could and she wasn’t going to give them the satisfaction. Continue reading Zorii Bliss: A Day in Kijimi: Chapter Twelve

Zorii Bliss: A Day in Kijimi: Chapter Eleven

Captain Anjor, a blond-haired human, was a stern woman whose goal to rise in the ranks of the First Order wasn’t happening quick enough for her liking. She had been stuck with the task of overseeing the operations on Kijimi; a job that proved a lot more difficult than she expected.

The pesky rebel cell in the city had hounded her every operation, catching the First Order by surprise. There were rumors. Rumors that she would be replaced and sent down even lower in the ranks if she continued to make a bad impression on the First Order. She couldn’t afford that to happen. Zorii Bliss: A Day in Kijimi: Chapter Ten

It wasn’t long before Zorii and her band of spice runners found the secret First Order base hidden in a well-fortified cave on the side of the towering mountain that reached toward the cloudless blue sky.  From their vantage point on a small cliff opposite the base, they were able to see just how difficult finishing this job was going to be.

Two-legged AT-ST Walkers patrolled the plateau in front of the cave, their every step announcing their intimidating presence. But Bliss and her runners had taken down AT-ST’s before. That wasn’t the problem. It was the small army that resided within the secret base located inside of the mountain. Squadrons of troopers were protecting the cowardly First Order captain. For some reason, the thought made Bliss angry. Continue reading Zorii Bliss: A Day in Kijimi: Chapter Ten

Zorii Bliss: A Day in Kijimi: Chapter Nine

The crew was going restless as they waited by Miners’ Gate, making sure to stay out of sight of the First Order patrol that continuously announced their presence as they stomped past in the ankle-deep snow with all of their pompous authority.

“Where is she?” one of the impatient Spice Runners hissed, shifting in his increasingly uncomfortable crouched stance.

Gibble looked back, his disapproval visible even though his face was hidden behind his dark mask.

“She will come. Just be patient.” Continue reading Zorii Bliss: A Day in Kijimi: Chapter Nine
